Default Channel 4 series - People seeking gastric surgery

Hi there.

I hope you don't mind me contacting you in this way.

My name is Charlotte and I'm a Producer at a documentary company called Voltage TV. I am hoping you might be able to post the attached message on your forum/ forward to memebers.

We are making a 4 part series for Channel 4 about the NHS
which aims to give viewers insight into the challenges of delivering free healthcare in a context of tightening budgets. We hope that, by engaging viewers in the decision making process around specific cases / patients we can help them understand some of the issues facing the NHS with regards to patient care and funding.

In a nutshell though, we want to open up the debate about NHS funding / decision making and look at areas where costs are rising, through personal stories of individuals seeking treatment. We are specifically looking for people who are looking to get gastric surgery for weight loss on the NHS or privately.

If you fit the criteria above and are interested in sharing your experiences, I would love to hear from you for an initial chat (no commitment to take part at this stage).

Best wishes,

Charlotte
