Height: Tall enough for my feet to reach the ground
12.85 miles here...OMG...Well I guess I will have to take a walk tomorrow night!!!!!
If I elimate the gravy (granted I wouldnt use a 1/2 cup) but that the dip and the whipped cream on my pie I would be down to 9.85 miles...so I just saved me 3 miles. I may have to opt for a piece of turkey on a dinner roll..that is only 6.13 miles.
NAW I will just eat sensibly and try to work in some extra exercise and enjoy my family!
11.8. But, that's assuming 1/2 c. of cranberry sauce (which I like, but not that much!), dark meat (which I don't eat), and a full piece of apple pie. I wish the calculator allowed for half-servings.
Ah, well, it was still fun. Thanks for posting the link.
Happy T-day, Americans. Everyone else... happy Thursday in late November.
I know what you girls mean. I'm not going to eat that much gravy and i got cool whip instead of whipped cream. I also won't eat half a cup of cranberry sauce and I don't eat dark meat either. I'm glad I looked at it though so I can see where I can carve off some calories. It's crazy how quickly it adds up!
OK ~ For my "projected" Thanksgiving meal tomorrow ~ After the math I figured if I start walking tonight that by Thanksgivng 2009...I will be good to go!
I wish the calculator also allowed for MULTIPLE servings. I love rolls. I eat more than 1.
Still, it is interesting, and seeing the calculator with all of those cal amounts in black and white is a good mental reference.
Thats what I was thinking. umm one pathetic roll? measly 1/2 c of stuffing? Now I dont eat gravy at all so I just clicked on more things...and I think pumpkin pie has more calories than that, heck the crust alone is ~ 110. And I know my homemade deep dish apple pie is closer to 550 a slice. Before whipped cream.
Yeah it IS crazy how easily those calories add up. But the calculator doesn't take into account your basal metabolic rate. At my current height, weight and age, I would need 1600 just for my BMR, so I'd shave that off the top automatically...is that cheating?
I'm figuring I'm burning calories just standing around the kitchen slaving over the stove and hefting the turkey in and out of the oven too. Still, I will try to maintain some semblance of control tomorrow, I'm sure my stomach (and scale) will thank me.
Well I would have to walk 20 IF I had 1/2 cup of gravy and stuffing and potatoes and, etc. etc. etc. They don't offer anything smaller huh? And my green bean casserole will be done on the light side, as with butter (Brummel & Brown). So I guess it would be under 20, but don't know what the true count is. Ahh well. I'll work it off on my next painting project.
wow...i better start walking now...14 miles for me...and that was just putting one glasss of wine in...hmmm somehow i think one will lead to 2 or 3 LOL
Location: Down in the dumps..but working my way out!
