You see that's where I would go wrong. I can't control myself - so I would not stop at 1/2 cup. I've been thinking of trying those new 100 calorie pack snacks like chips ahoy cookies and stuff, at least that is already measured and I would be more likely to not overeat that cause I wouldn't start another bag.

Half a cup is only 115 calories?? WOW! I could totally do that. So long as I pre-measured, I could stop at 1/4 cup and 60 calories would totally fit into my daily limit. Hmmm, I may need to look into this Chocolate Chex Mix.

I recently bought a tub of chocolate meringues from Trader Joes. A serving is 13 meringues and is 110 calories. They remind me of the chocolate marshmallows in the Count Chocula cereal (which, I totally love, I might add).

I also recently came across a recipe for Biscotti with Hazelnuts and Bittersweet Chocolate that is only 50 calories per cookie (http://recipes.bhg.com/recipes/recip...questid=276199, see the different varieties at the end of the recipe). Haven't tried it yet, but it's definitely on my list. That, and SoTypical's peanut butter cookies (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95080).

My standard desserts are low cal pudding, sugar-free fudgesicles, and sugar free hard candy.

I was thinking the opposite, that 1/2 cup isn't much for 115 calories

It's all relative. Compared to 60 calories for a cup of raspberries or 120 calories for 1 cup of NF yogurt, sure, half cup isn't that much for 115 calories. But most trail mixes are 140 calories or more for only 1/4 cup (I've looked at a lot of packages of trail mix, looking for the magic one that fits into my calorie limit), nuts are usually 180 calories or more for 1/4 cup, and tortilla chips are around 140 calories for 10 chips. So when you compare it to similar type snack foods, 115 calories for 1/2 cup sounds pretty good to me.

I get some mini rice crackers from Trader Joe's that are 130 calories for 37 crackers (they are really really small crackers, probably less than an inch) and soy chips that are 110 calories for 18 chips (a little more normal sized but still small) and I have to say that chocolate chex mix sounds better than both (I'm not eating either of them for their nutritional value) and I'd probably be able to eat more of it! I eat a lot of fruit, veggies, and yogurt but sometimes I just want some chips.

Of course, nothing compares to Trader Joe's banana crisps, which tasted like potato chips and were only 60 calories per cup, but alas, they've been out of stock so long I've given up hope on ever seeing them again.

Mmmmmmm, those sound good. What's the brand name? Trader Joe's? Maybe I can look it up and find them elsewhere.

And you're right about the relativity thing. I guess I'm more of the type to go for fewer cals in the biggest portions!

Sounds too good to be true? Probably is...

From HungryGirl:
***We've been warning you about our suspicions that the nutritional info on Trader Joe's Banana CRISPS is off. According to test results from two independent labs, these supposed 40-calorie, 1g-of-fat snacks were found to have about FOUR times the calories and SIX times the fat as the package states! This information was sent to us by subscribers, along with the lab results. We're just reporting the info here, people

I would have a very hard time eating a half cup of something as good as chocolate chex mix. That's why I had to stop buying Lucky Charms and Wheat Thins - they just disappear too fast!

for me it is a really tasty replacement for chips, i mean how many chips are you gonna get for 115 calories?.... and it has pretzles and little chocolate things in it, and caramel popcorn, and chocolate and butterscotch chex.... it's very tasty, and for me, it's saving me a lot of calories.... i LOVE the salty-sweet flavor of chocolate covered pretzles, and this stuff does it for me.... i can eat the pretzles with a couple of the chocolate things, and man does it fill the void

oh.... and i love count chocula too.... it's one of my favoritest foods....

Chocolate Chex is delicious, I can't buy it too often cause I tend to eat more than I should at one sitting. I love it though.

Yeah, I think I was given a handful of this stuff by a friend at work.

I dare not buy that stuff. For me, 1 bag = 1 serving. Seriously, I would suck it down like a vacuum on steriods.

I wish I could keep tasty treats like this around my house and eat reasonably sized portions of them.

I'm addicted to this stuff. It's very hard to stick to just 1/2 cup serving though. I could eat a half a bag at a time!
