Donuts, most ice cream, red lobster anything, cereal with lots of sugar, cheesecake, mostly high sugar foods. I still love a can of mountain dew - I wish that would go away!
After a big night out my sweetheart likes to have McDonalds for breakfast...So normally we'd BOTH have it. Now I can barely stand the smell of it, and the thought of eating a McMuffin? Blech!
I made biscuits and sausage gravy today, something I used to love...now? The crazy amount of salt grossed me out and I felt yucky all day. Time to move on, I think. They say our tastebuds change every 7 years...
I also have an issue with donuts, every now and then I try one and they just taste of oil to me. Most fried foods make me feel ill as well as the taste of oil is overpowering
I have to third it on McDonalds. The grease smell alone, no matter if it is breakfast or burgers...is nauseating. I have not had a big mac for a million years. I think for me its more about my tastes having changed rather than dieting, but who knows? I used to be a diet pepsi nut too; stopped that a long time ago and now its just gross to me.
Definitely sugary-laden foods: donuts, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, etc. As much as I still crave them especially around TOM, it's just not worth it to me to work out like I do and feed my body with crap, lol.
Ranch dressing, I used to eat it every day. I'd eat pizza just so I could dip it in the Ranch dressing. I was addicted to it for 10 years then at the beginning of my pregnancy I tried making the "homemade" version where you mix the packet with mayo and it was so disgusting and it turned me off for good from the stuff. I think the msg is what I was addicted to also, so just knowing that makes me not want to ever have it again--the Kraft or Hidden Valley. But I DO still eat the dip cups if I get Pizza Hut, just don't eat it every day anymore.
Fast Food Fries--the only thing I liked from those places. Ew.
Icees/slurpees. I used to drink them like they were going out of style. Now they are too sugary, I can't stand more than a sip.
Cake/Icing--too sweet!
My sister and I had gone to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and usually the smells from all the food places smell soooo good. Its weird because now they smell offensive. The grease alone stopped me from wanting any of it. But because Im a fat kid, I did stop to look at the candy apples (my favorite)
but It smelled like burnt sugar, not happy sugar. Curbed any want of junk food that day. We had made a cake for my brother and the smell of it was heavenly and the chocolate frosting was making me drool. I was standing firm, but wanted it soooo bad. Finally she took some frosting shoved it in my
mouth and said "there, now you wont crave it" she was right, it was so sweet and nasty tasting. Thank goodness for tough love.
I wish there were more foods that grossed me out, but alas, there aren't too many. LOL
Willpower is my friend.
This, 1000 times.
I think one is more likely to experience this change of tastes if your plan involves radically changing the type of food you eat. If you got fat on fast food, processed junk food, and sugary treats, then your tastes may indeed change after you eat mostly whole foods for a while. After you'd eaten real food for a while, the old stuff can start to seem too greasy, too artificial or chemical tasting, and not flavorful enough (tasting only of salt and fat, or sugar or fat, with no other flavors).
Me, I got fat mostly on real food - just too damn much of it! I've made small changes in the "what" I eat but for the most part my weight loss has come from controlling the "how much" - I haven't had to make radical changes in the food choices themselves though. I never found fast food particularly appetizing and I still don't! However, the food I got fat on is still as appetizing as ever.
grossed out? Not especially- they still tend to be quite tempting. However, when I do indulge, I find that most of the time they make me sick. The feeling is just terrible!
