I was actually surprised that it didn't. For me, sugar and carbs generically are a huge trigger, but it seems to be more carb-related thean sweetness related. Artificial sweeteners, and even small amounts of real sugar (like in a single, small piece of hard candy) aren't a terribly strong trigger.
More than 50 calories of carbs (whether from sugar or carbs) though and it can affect my hunger dramatically.
The gum also keeps its flavor so long, that my jaws are tired of chewing before I'm tired of the gum's flavor (which may be another reason I'm not particularly hungry after chewing a piece)
