Thanks for the help!!!
I didn't have time to do shopping for tonight but I used what I had in the house and it came out pretty good.I used TobeyToe's recipe and the full fat tarter sauce's ingrediant list as a guide. It doens't taste as rich as full fat stuff and it has a yellowish tint due to the dill pickle but it's tastes pretty good.
Here's what i used. (makes about 1/2 a cup of it)
1/4 cup fat free mayo (2 big glops with a spoon)
1 dill pickle spear finely chopped ( I picked a small one)
1 tablespoon of finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 pinch dry parsley flakes crushed
1 packet of Splenda sweetener
*note: using sweetNlow or equal could be
gross
a light sprinkling of seasoning salt
*mine contains: Paprika, onion and garlic powder, and salt*
Mix it all together, that's it.
I'm not sure how well it stores, so I tried to make just a little of it and put the leftovers in a small baby food jar in the fridge. It's not as thick as the store fat full tarter sauce, theirs has "flour" listed in the ingrediants...maybe to thicken it. (shrug)
They also put sugar and corn syrup in theirs so I just used Splenda instead. I didn't have any red peppers in the house and my fat full tarter sauce didn't list it, so I figured the paprika in the seasoning salt was fine. The fat full stuff listed egg yolks, which I didn't add to mine and might be why theirs tasted so rich.
All in all it worked out pretty good, too bad I burned the fish!
