Interesting...
Not surprising. Like a box of crackers could be $2.69, but the reduced fat is sometimes almost a dollar more. For many products, the "healthier" versions are more expensive than the regular.

And they wonder why people say they can't afford to eat healthy.

Prices for organic milk have not changed at all...wonder why. I can almost always find at least one brand of organic milk for $2.50 a half and still can. I hadnt even noticed other milk was going up in price - they are almost the same price now!

Woohoo! Went to the store yesterday and gallons are back down to $2.29. Only temporary, I'm sure. It goes up and down so much. Next week they'll probably be nearly $4 again.

Southern Florida it is a bit higher. I believe last week Walmart had 2% pretty darn close to 5$, 4.89$ for their brand. Publix will occasionally have it for sale at 2.99$ but it is 4.19$ regularly. I have 4 sons and one who is under 2, so no skim for the entire family. I get gallons and I go thru 3 gallons a week here. I buy a small thing of skim for me.

Winn Dixie brand FF milk has jumped again from $4.19 to $4.29, but I guess I shouldn't be complaining since cupcake84 is paying $6.79 a gallon. I think I would have to go without it at that point....but then again I love milk. Thank you all for sharing.

Last Sunday I paid $1.99 for half gallon of 1% at Trader Joe's. Tuesday, I paid $2.30 for a quart of Knudsen's skim milk at the grocery. Go figure. I am seriously thinking about using non-fat dry milk as long as I am drinking skim milk.
