Hi Featherweights! It's been almost a year since I last roamed the 3fc forum. I'm posting this sort of as a commitment to myself and also as an introduction to you all.

I have hit a turning point in my life and it seems like all the signs are telling me this is the time to really take care of me. I have started and re-started so many times over the last few years, but this time is THE time. I just hit 40, the kids are getting more independant, I'm job hunting...lot's of motivation for me to really do this. I think what really inspired me was seeing a picture of myself from a few years ago. I was about 125 lbs in that pic. Wow. Only 7 years ago too. I know I can do this!

Looking forward to reading and learning and making progress with all of you!

Well go girl! Welcome! You can do it! I'm 46 and I've given up all those excuses that I "can't" lose weight in my 40s -- it is so possible! ...(with healthy eating and exercise of course!)

Thank you both! I'm of to a good start. Had a great week with calorie counting and exercise but the scale hasn't caught on yet. Thought for sure I'd be down today but not yet. I'm going to work on my consistancy though and really keep at it.
