Any time you move your body more than you normally would it's "worth it." If you find an activity that helps you get maximum benefits, that's bonus. I would say kickboxing is definitely one of the better overall cardio exercises when done properly. The question is, Do you LIKE kickboxing? If so, then stick with it. If not, find something else you like better.

I agree with funniegirl. You should focus on exercises that you enjoy. Personally, I LOVE kickboxing and it was very helpful in shedding the lbs. However, I did find a BIG difference between the kickboxing class at my gym and the Taebo videos that I did at home . I found the gym's version to be much easier then the videos I did at home. Yet helpful none the less. Find something you like and stick with it. I've also found that switching up is also good for the body.

OMG I LOVE kickboxing!! I did 2 1/2 hr class last night!!

I've lost 20lbs since starting classes in August, after plateauing for about 6 months or a year. My muscles feel so tight and, well sore now really

If you like it then stick with it, it's well worth the payoff, just don't forget to watch the eats too!

Have fun!

I love it! I have a Tae-Bo dvd and Kathy Smith Kick-Boxing Workout dvd. The Kathy Smith one is definately easier than the Tae-Bo though! My calves are getting so hard and toned from it! Definately a great workout!
