It's possible to do strength training without anything fancy. I do exercises that use my own body for resistance like push ups and crunches. I have hard floors to, so I use my bed, which has a firm mattress and is perfect for that kind of thing. I have some free weights but I don't use them. It is possible to do strength exercises very cheaply. I also have a small booklet I got from a local diet program that has a bunch of strength exercises in it, one uses the wall for wall presses, another uses a kitchen chair, another uses a set of light free weights and another has a rolled up towel. So there are many exercises out there that use simple items, if that is what you want.
