I've been training for an 8K race for the last couple of months, and I'm wondering what would be the best exercise to do the day before the race. Should I just do some walking? Should I run a bit? I don't want to tire myself out too much, so I have less energy for the race, but since it's my last workout before the 8K I want to make it count.
If you're hoping to get your best results possible from the race, I'd stick with a short (1-2 mile) jog or walk. Let your muscles rest. Any exercise you do today will not help tomorrow's performance and can hurt it. If the race is mostly for fun and for the sake of having a goal to work towards, then an easy 5k run should be fine.

Good luck with the race! What's your goal?
Thanks! I'll definitely won't push myself too hard. I registered for the race a few months ago as a way to get my butt off the couch. It has definitely worked. I don't really have a goal, just do the best I can really.
