Default Achilles tendonitis

I have achilles tendonitis. I can't walk on the treadmill or outside for cardio. Does anyone have suggestions for how to get a cardio workout without hurting my foot. Or should I just stick to resistance training. I have about 120 pounds to lose. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. It is very painful.

Can you ride a stationary bicycle? When I was having problems with plantar faceitis I could not use the treadmill but the I was okay on the bike.

I think bike is a good idea. Have you been formally diagnosed? I thought my heel pain was tendonitis but turned out to be a heel spur, and orthotics have helped greatly, and I am back to regular exercise again. Good luck, heal well!

Thankyou, I do have a recumbant bike that has been gathering dust in the basement. I will try it today. Yes, I was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago. I am trying to avoid a rupture, but still trying to keep active. I do wear a special boot most of the day. It helps a little, but I still need to ice it and take anti-inflammatory meds to deal with it. Oh well, it will heal someday.
