Advice on walking/toning
I have started walking lately and am really forcussed now on meeting my Miles Goal (as you can see by my signature) and I really think that is what keeps me going. Anyway, my first question is, what is more important? Distance, speed or time walked? Also, I want to start toning as well. I have a Power 90 DVD that I have done in the past and enjoyed it. (it's quick!) I hate to excersize anymore than I have to but I really like the benefits! My concern with starting the DVD is that I will lose focus of the walking and then just stop all together. Or I will freak out because I am not meeting my miles goal. I get up at 6am and walk for 40-60 min totalling 2-3 miles (I try to do this 5 days a week). If I walk for 40-60 min. Mon. Wed. and Fri. and then on Tue. Thurs and Sat. walk for 25-30 and then do the DVD (it's 30 min), or just do the DVD on the odd days (I don't know if I could stand to do both in the beginning), does that sound like a good plan.
I have been trying so hard for about 5 years to lose this weight and really don't want to mess it up this time. I guess I just need someone to tell me if I am doing it right.
Thanks!
