I am soooo frustrated by my torso area. I need to know what you guys think I should do. I do 100-120 abs 3-5 times per week and you can SEE the ab muscles under the fat, but I have to get rid of the fat on my stomach/torso. Could you please look at the pics and give me some advice? Like, could I lose this fat by losing 10-15 lb more? (or less?).
I think it's really difficult for anyone to be able to guess how many pounds you would have to lose to eliminate belly fat. It would depend upon your age, whether you've had children and where your body prefers to store its fat. Just keep on keeping on with your diet and exercise and you'll get there eventually. In the interim, perhaps you should start building some of your other muscles as well, if you don't already
No children, 32 years old, body prefers to evenly distribute fat everywhere! (thanks body!). I do work all my muscles......Cardio 45 minutes 3-4 x weekly with weight training about 15 minutes those same days.
We're the same height though it sounds like we distribute fat differently - i'm a pear and my body loves to pile it on around the hips, bum and thighs! I tend to lose quickly on my upper body (which unfortunately includes my boobs *tear*
I don't do crunches etc at the moment but I have gained definition/tone from holding/tensing the muscles and holding correct posture all day long as well as concentrating on the ab muscles while running and cycling.
I'm down to about 138 pounds and I've begun to actually see the abs outline quite clearly. At 145 pounds my body fat percentage was still too high for any definition. My goal at the moment is about 60kgs or 132 pounds.
I do a lot of cardio though - running 8-10kms most mornings (takes about 40-45mins) and some evenings and a 45-60 minute spin class 3-4 times a week, plus power walking on my lunch breaks, soccer training and games and the odd boxing class.
