its really good. Sara Ivanhoe (the instuctor) takes you through the 12 basic yoga positions. its a great tape for a beginner like me. im going to keep doing this tape every day...or every other day. i hope other people will try it too.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've been considering trying yoga, and would be a complete novice. I'll check into this, thanks

kaitikat-
I have tried all of the videos in the Dummies series-yoga, pilates, and strength training. (Called "Getting In Shape With Weights For Dummies)

They are all solid workouts at the beginner level...and what I think is best about them is that they tell so much information throughout the video. They will explain proper form, what certain terminology means (a novice strength trainer may not know their quadriceps from their triceps!) and also modifications if a certain move or pose is not for you. There are lots of helpful hints along the way.

I just ordered the "For Dummies..." off Netflix thanks for suggesting them...I have so many dvd's I tried one time and never used again that I found using Net flix for the exercise as well as the movies saves me some bucks!!!...oh and I do not have any interest in netflix just like having DVD's in the mail after work!!!

I prefer to borrow DVDs from the library first it's free!

As far as yoga...I started doing Pilates a couple months ago, then followed up with Yoga. If you can, try and find a good class - with an instructor who can assist you in doing the movements correctly. I was fortunate enough to find a class just 2 blocks away from my house - it's a very small group (maybe 5 people at MOST) and the instructor is certified in both Yoga and Pilates. I've found that since I've started, I've become much more flexible and my horseback riding has improved
