Default Losing Weight on Meds, Any Success?
I took lithium from 2001 to 2003 and once I came off lost 43lbs with diet and exercise. I have since regained the weight and back on medications and regained 50lbs. I started the South Beach Diet today. I would love to hear of success stories that it is possible to lose weight while on medication. I use it as an excuse and feel it is a barrier to weight loss. I hope to lose the weight and be more confident with myself....

I have lost weight taking psych meds. I did lose about 30lbs years ago when my Lithium was significantly reduced. I gained it back due to my eating behavior. I'm currently on 600mg of Lithium, 150mg Effexor XR, and Valium PRN. I am losing.

That's refreshing to here.... I think a positive attitude will definetely help me get through also....

I've been on meds for close to 10 years.. lost 80 pounds with 20 left. It can be done
