CountyBarbie, it's never too late to join a challenge. Welcome!!!
Okay, confession time, gang. I have been a very bad girl since Thanksgiving and more than disappointed with myself, especially since I was the one who started this challenge.
I gave myself a planned cheat day for Thanksgiving, thinking I had dieted long enough to have the willpower to get back on plan the very next day. It didn't happen! I can use the excuse that it was my husband's vacation or we were so tired from all the house repairs and hosting Thanksgiving to cook healthy foods, etc... But that's all they'd be...excuses.
But I'm proud to say that I am back 100% today, moving forward and not looking back. No one is perfect, certainly not I. So I'm back on the saddle and my resolve is now stronger than ever.
AND...I'm keeping my Christmas weight loss goal exactly the same. I just have to work even harder to get there now.
I decided not to weigh myself today, even though Mondays are officially my weigh-in day. Why set myself up for disappointment when I know that the scale will show a 3- to 5-pound gain (mostly water, I know, but still would be a bummer to actually see the number, you know?). I know I'll get it off and then some within this next week, so I'll just wait until next Monday to weigh in.
Lambie, congrats on surpassing your Thanksgiving goal and to your husband for his bench press achievement! Way to go to both of you!
It seems that most people have great success with calorie counting. I still love to low carb, but if the pounds don't come off as quickly as I want for this challenge, I may add calorie counting in with my low carbing.
Looks like we are off to a great start (my 4-day binge aside). Let's keep up the good work everyone!
