Default What diet is working for you?

Still trying to find the right diet but looks like low-carb works best for me. Fish and chicken are best for me...

I just started eating my meals at

b- 10:00 AM
L- 2:00 PM
D- 5:30 PM
S- 7:00 PM

and find the times are working better then what I was doing before

low carb has always worked best for me, for weight loss purposes. Right now I am trying Carb Nite Solutions approach. Less than 30g of carbs a day for 10days then a carb filled night. then its every 5 to 7 days after that you have a carb night. There's a little more to it than that, but that's the general synopsis

My "diet" of choice is Atkins....although I don't call it a diet but, rather a lifestyle change. I've been doing it 10 years and 4 months. Works great for me!

I am on Optifast - very low carb. We burn fat for energy instead of breaking down carbs =)

My own mix of paleo and Low carb.

I avoid
rice
potatoes
pasta
juice
and soda
and fast food
and alcohol

Most recipes I cook at home are paleo based.

The only major carb I eat is toast with breakfast.

I have one cheat day once week although I'm thinking of extending that to 10 days, but its working

I like reading paleo/primal blueprint blogs for inspiration.

I have my own system of paleo + cheese + beer I'll eat more carbs before/during intense or long workouts, 6hr bike rides, etc. Low carb has helped me deal with some anxiety and binge issues as well as some digestive ones

For weight loss, I'm trying something new - low carb and counting calories. I can't quite get myself to under 50g of carbs yet, but apparently that really helps!

Simply low carb. I was vegetarian prior to this and sooo frustrated with the @5-10 lb gain every year. I'd tried Atkins @10 yrs ago and thought the whole concept was wack-a-doodle, but working in the medical field I see DRs with no weight issues following carb restricted diets so I came up with my own. In the beginning I weighed myself every day...but now maybe every 3 days. I also check my urine for ketones periodically. My diet includes a LOT of pistachios and almonds ( which 'supposedly' youre not supposed to eat initially), cheese, beef jerky (found some amazing jerky on etsy.com!), and veggies, veggies, veggies. I drink my water w crystal lite...no problems on the scale from that. I've lost >20 lbs in a bit over a month. Of course fast feels great, but it has slowed since the first two weeks. Sometimes the scale is up from too much sodium, etc. but trends down. Id much rather be able to incorporate a diet I can live on that dump a bunch of weight that I am miserable doing and wont sustain.

I just joined 3 chicks and have been looking for the best forum for me.
I'm not doing any specific low carb diet but am hobbling together my own from Atkins, south Beach, Gary Taubes, etc.
Low carb works best for me because I can't stand being hungry. Hunger is torture to me. Don't give me lunch and I'll tell you whatever you want to know!
I'd like to lose 20 lbs so that I look better and my clothes fit better. Health wise, i have very bad arthritis in my feet so I think a little less weight on my feet will help with the pain. that's about it for me. Looking forward to lots of discussion.

I eat a lot of fish. And some carbs thrown in don't make any difference (mostly from honey and beer for me).

Fish is awesome though. Lean. And so good for you.

By a lot, I mean 1.5-2lbs a day. That's a lot.

A combination of calorie counting and portion control. I stopped any and all sodas, and only drink water or iced tea. I only eat whole grains if I have carbs, and I limit those. And I exercise.

I just eat 'primary' foods. Meats, fish, veggies, nuts, seeds, dairy, and a few fruits. As little processed as possible. High fat. It's worked GREAT for me. I've been in maintenance for 15 months now. Never felt better, stronger, in control, passionate about how great this lifestyle is.
