Default Calorie counters - how many calories do you eat daily?

I think my "accidental" weight loss has come to an end, and so I'm watching my calories and trying to meet my nutrient requirements. I am also trying to fit some exercise into my life every day. I weigh 282, and I ate 1117 calories Thursday and 1689 yesterday. Today I've already eaten 1424 and haven't had dinner yet, so I imagine my total will be around 1800. Tomorrow I will aim for a lower about 1100 or 1200, to keep my metabolism guessing. I amwondering how my caloric intake compares to others'. If you post your calories, please post your weight and activity level also. Thank you.

Oops...I just noticed there is a calorie counters board. Can this be moved, or should I repost there?

crazychubbybeautiful.. i do pretty much the same thing as you, changing the calories everyday, and about the same range. i think it keeps my metabolism guessing, but also, some days i am hungrier than others, or i want some treat or other. my target range for calories is about 1200-1600. but sometimes i go over or under that. i work out about 4x per week, but i don't really change my cals because of that. i am 170 now, started at 198 in june.

Ooops, I forgot. Hi Crazychubbybeautiful! Let me see ... I'm 5'3" .... I have been biking 5-7 times a week for about 18 miles a week. I try to get in 4 25 minute sessions of resistance training each week .... I try for 1200 cals per day but fitday tells me I'm averaging 1404 this week. I had a bit of a backslide earlier this year but I think I've lost 17 lbs since June.

I'm 5'4" & doing some maintenance experimentation - at least that's what I'm calling it this week. I'm at about 1500-1800/day. When I was trying to lose (way back a week & a half ago ) I was aiming for 1200-1400 with 45min cardio 5-6x/wk & about 20min weights 5-6x/wk.

Wow Susan, I just noticed your sig - another 2 lbs gone. You're really kickin it!

Thanks Julia. This thread has been a kicker for me. I finally went for a bike ride after I posted that 'I try' post and realised how slack it sounded.
Thanks for the pat on the back. I'm pretty happy these days.

Cool Counting calories and carbs

I'm on a modified version of Atkins where I count calories and carbs. I try not to go over 1900 calories a day. That may sound like a lot, but I hate going hungry and 1900 minimizes that. Yesterday I ate 1904 calories with 125g of fat, and 36g carbs.

August was horrible and I gained a ton (two vacations), but September is a new month.

I try to stay somewhere between 1100-1600. My average is about 1300 cal. 15 % fat, 55 % carbs and 30 % protein.
Am 5'2, 138 lbs. Walk about 45 min/day (although not very brisk) and just started doing 20 min 5-6x/week alternating between upper and lower body.

Im 5' 3, 140lbs. My cal intake is roughly 1100-1300 depending on how active I am. The more active I am the more I take in. I now walk back up to 1.5 hours daily (3.0mph). I also do calistenics 3x's weekly. Which next week my activity is going to be more challenging for me. Since I found my dumbbells and got me a pilate workout tape.

Ok... now I am more curious lol. I am trying to stay between 1500 and 1800 calories a day..... to lose weight! My doc said to eat around 1600 a day to lose. But from what I am seeing is everyone is staying around 1100 to 1300 a day in calories!

I am reading The American Heart Association No Fad Diet (calorie counter) book. In there it said for me to eat between 2509 and 2895 calories a day to maintain my weight. The 2509 is for a non-active (I just started exercising again daily a week ago) person and the 2895 is for a moderately active person.

Which means what I am eating would help me to lose weight. Is this correct? This calorie counting stuff can get very confusing!

Here is the Calorie Calculation chart I used from the American Heart Association's book to get the numbers (2509 - 2895) above...

Thanks!

You can probably eat more because you weigh more. The more body weight you have, the more you can eat and still lose.
