The amount of calories you need to eat in order to lose depends on your metabolism, current weight, and amount of activity (all of which are interrelated), so it will vary from person to person, and for the same person over time.

I'm currently eating an average of 1530 calories per day (sometimes as low as 1350, sometimes as high as 1900, but usually around 1500). This has been working pretty well for me right now - I've lost 16 pounds in about 8 weeks. (From 263 to 247).

It sounds like you fluctuate (sp?) which is probably a good idea. It looks like your weight loss is going awesome!! Congrats with your success!
