Hello! I'm a bit of a chocoholic. (hence the name) and I seem to be finishing my days on low fat and low calories! So I was wondering... can I have a sneaky bit of chocolate before bed (as long as my calories are under 1200/day)? Or will this affect my weight loss because it's bad (but so ridiculously tasty) food?

Yes, you can still have it. It shouldn't affect anything as long you budget for it in your calories. I still have a bit of chocolate a few times a week if not daily, preferably dark rather than milk. Enjoy!
I have worked dark chocolate into my diet every day. I have two squares of Ghirardelli 72% cocoa in the evening around 8 pm. I get incredibly mean if I don't have my chocolate fix!
I definitely still eat my chocolate, still the unhealthy milk variety as I can't stand dark chocolate. It's odd but now when I eat it I'm satisfied after about 1/4 of a bar which is the past used to not be enough for me.
I find if I don't allow myself to eat things I'm going to end up binging on them later so it's all about eating in moderation to avoid binges.
I've found that I really have to get away from "good" and "bad" labels for food to be successful. Food is just food. Some foods are more nutritious than others, but they are all fuel!
I also eat dark chocolate every day ( I have some cold processed stuff) as chocolate is a great anti-inflamitory and takes care of those free radicles... LOL and it helps me sleep to boot... I also mix dark baking chocolate powder with Splenda and cream cheese (ok for low carbers) and its like having bitefulls of cheesecake Chocolate, to me, is a required food group!!!
Yup! I've been eating a slice of cheesecake once a week and have averaged 2lbs loss weekly! If it comes under your calorie goal i wouldnt worry about it too much!

The chocolate cheesecake sounds really yummmm!!! I will have to try that as soon as I pick up a tub of cream cheese!
The benefit of calorie counting is your'e in charge of what you consume, but just have to practice moderation in order to stay within your daily calorie allowance. Some people can eat small amounts of their favorite foods and work that into a normal life style, but others (myself included) can't. If I have a little chocolate, I want to have massive quantities. Anything with refined sugar will trigger binges so I can't allow it for the time being. Hopefully one day....but if you can do it, go for it!
There's no such thing as "bad" foods for losing weight, if you stay within your calorie budget. The only reason some people might consider chocolate "bad" is that it could trigger cravings for more chocolate... and more other stuff. If that's not the case with you, enjoy your chocolate!
Definitely eat some dark chocolate! It is good for you, but make sure that you get some that has at least 70% cocoa or I also like to drink a cup of dark chocolate almond milk.

I love dark chocolate AND almonds- did you make that yourself or did you buy it like that? If so, what brand?
