I just got off of a 2 week ckeanse of nothing but fruit and veggies and lost 12 pounds. im starting to count calories and not sure how many to have. I'm thinking around 1400? How many do all of you allow yourselves?:
In my case, 2,000 for maintenance and 1,500 for weight loss. I'm 55, 5'11" tall, weigh 140-145 lbs after losing 50+ pounds last year, and work out 3 to 5 times per week.
I eat between 1200-1600 per day. Just depends on how hungry I am.
There are websites that will help you calculate how many calories you should take in based on how active you are and how much weight you are trying to loose.
My net goal is between 1350-1500. So if I dont exercise, I eat that amount. If I do exercise, I eat back my burned calories until my net is back to being somewhere in between the 1350-1500
I try and cycle my calories between 1200 - 1600 a day, with a "splurge" day once a week, and no exercise besides my job and all the walking I do (I am planning to begin incorporating exercise soon.) I am still losing at a slow yet steady rate.

I do 1200 calories. I chose this number via the scientific method of vaguely remembering what someone once said on a message board a year or so ago. It worked all right, so I didn't see the need to change it. I get one cheat day a month where I get to go all out if I want to. Usually, I end the day between 1150 and 1200.
1000-1200 I usually end up around 1100. I don't want to have to eat this low but weightloss is slow this time around. I need to add exercise into the mix!
I lost approx. 45 lbs. eating 9800 a week (I cycle my calories, but it averaged 1400 per day). Now, to maintain 135, I eat approx. 15000 per week. I exercise 1-2 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Thanks guys! On my fitness pal it says to eat 1400. My problem is i also have a night job and get hungry around 2am. I have an insane schedule! Work 730am to 230 pm then I go home until midnight and then work 1230am to 4am that is a 7 day a week job. And I'm also a full time grad student. Life is so crazy. I don't know how to even out my calories to keep myself satisfied
