Default DRY v. COOKED LEGUMES HELP

Hi guys -- this has always perplexed me...when you're cooking beans, lentils, etc., any legume in general, do you count the calories from your dry measure or after you've cooked them?

For example...I just cooked 1/2 cup of green lentils -- calories while dry are 140. However, this yielded about 2 cups of cooked lentils. 1 cup of cooked green lentils is 230 calories. So, I am confused...how do I count it -- as 140 because that's what it was? Or 230 x 2, 460 for 2 cups?!

I would go with dry since cooked can vary based on water.
