I started July30th and so far I've lost 6lbs. That's with a handful of days where I ate around 1800 even though my max is supposed to be 1600 oops
Edited: I wanted to add that this is me coming back to my diet after taking a lot of time off. Prior to this, I counted calories (with exercise) and lost 45lbs in 14 months, but really it was more like 7 months and the rest of maintaining and then I regained some of it back
I started in November 2005. By August 2006 I had lost 35 lbs. Then I went through a period of gaining (due to off-plan eating) and losing the same 5 lbs or so until April of this year. At that time I was about 6 lbs over my lowest weight. I got serious about controlling my calories again and have now lost those six pounds plus three more.
From June 2006 to November 2006 I lost 32 pounds. Then I stopped counting calories religiously, and however many months later, I am still resting at 30 pounds lost (I have been gaining and losing the same 2 pounds for over six months). I started counting calories seriously again yesterday, and I'm determined to lose the rest of this weight. I'm doing the Wendie Plan in calories and I think it's just what I need. The hardest part for me is the measuring of everything that goes in my mouth, but it's the only thing that works, so I'll do it.
I think it was somewhere around June 17th, 2007. I had lost 7 pounds, but I gained one back this week after spending 6 days at a friend's house out of state. Oops. But time to get back on track!
I started January 21, 2007 and have lost 69.8 lbs to date.
My daily calorie count varies, I just try and keep it at or below 1500... lately it's been around 1400. If I felt hungry or tired or whatever, I'd up my calories, but so far I'm full and content on this amount. Oh, and there are also the times when I can't count exactly because I'm at a restaurant. That might bring my average up a little bit.
I have lost 12 pounds since 4/9/07 and I lost most of that since June 25th when I started counting calories. Before that I was trying low-carb and it was hit and miss. I like the discipline and accountability of calorie counting. Before I was cheating a lot and not admitting it to myself.
However, right now I seem to be at a bit of a stall. I have been eating around 1400-1600 calories and loosing but I think I'm going to have to be stricter and stick to 1200-1400 for a while.
just wondering.. how do you know how many calories you should be taking in each day? obviously at least 1000 right?? I'm 20 yrs. old, 5'2" sitting at about 143 lbs right now.. I get moderate exercise right now by walking to and from work (about 30 min each way), and I will be actively working out starting in a couple weeks when school starts.. any suggestions?? and did everyone lose weight by just counting calories? or are you careful with how much carbs, protein, fat, etc? thanks! =)
ps - congrats to everyone whos made such AWESOME progress!!
