Default Silly Exercise Question!

This may be a silly question, but I am hoping someone will know the answer.

I ride a excercise bike for cardio. Sometimes it is so hot in the room, I put a fan in to cool me off and sometimes, I just sweat. Does it make any difference if you sweat or not on the workout? Does it affect calories burned?

Thanks Everyone!
Teresa

I'm no expert - but I'd say working up a sweat can't be bad. Just keep yourself hydrated. To figure out how hard you are actually working, I'd venture a guess a better measurement would be heart rate - that would be more constant regardless of temperature. I aim to keep my heart rate between 75-80% of maximum when I am working out.

Sweating has cleansing properties - saunas and sweat rooms have been in use for generations.
