Returning to my roots.
I'm back. I've been here before (at this juncture and at this website) and here I go again.
I have a problem called reactive hypoglycemia. Have suffered with this awhile, but it usually isn't a problem at all. Then I learned my husband is a diabetic. Not new to me as I'm a nurse. I take action for him. He's doing so well he doesn't even register as diabetic on his lab work. His problem is well managed. Along the way I meet a CDE, and I must say one of the smartest people I've ever encountered. This person starts talking to me, I state I always have trouble losing weight because eating sugar makes my sugar drop. Working out makes my sugar drop. Anyone who has had this experience knows it makes you pretty grumpy and useless. Anyway, this person recommends "Atkins." Oh how familiar is that name. I can't argue his reasoning. I can't argue his logic.
So, here I go again. I have done low carb before, successfully. I must say my most usual downfall is time, which I actually have more of this year than last so maybe that won't be so bad.
I didn't regain all my weight from last time but I left my ticker set at my original weight. I think my ticker can be my "lifetime" ticker instead of a "this time" ticker. I did reset my current weight to be accurate.
I am good for advice and support to anyone who needs it, I think there's a lot of good on this website and am choosing to come back here for the supportive community atmosphere.
Anyway, see you on the other side.
