i read about chromium picolinate and calcium if taken together help reduce belly fat, has anyone tried this? i'v e been using it and my belly seems to be getting a little smoother and i'vwe lost about 2-3 lbs a week since starting, then today i read that taking vitamin c helps as well so i am going to take that as well (i'm getting a cold any way so that might kill 2 birds with 1 stone)

just wanted to know if anyone besides me has heard or read about this.

What else are you doing?

I take or took those supplements (and have for the last 5 years) along with a lot of other vitmains, minerals, and amino acids. However, I really think my weightloss and maintnance has more to do with my very careful nutrition, daily weightlifting and cardio. The supplements support my health- they don't cause me to lose weight.

According to the research that I did, if you are lacking in chromium, it takes about 2 months to restore your levels, then further supplementation is a waste. I discontinued it after about 3 months and noticed no difference in how I felt or ease/difficulty of weightloss or maintenance.

Chromium has no effect on weight loss. There are potential dangers.

Calcium has been shown to help in weight loss, if you get the calcium from natural dairy sources and not supplements. It is thought that there are other factors at play to work with the calcium, so you need to get it from the source. Not supplements. If interested, you should get from 1200 to 1600 mg calcium per day from your foods. While this won't result in weight loss by itself, it can slightly increase the amount of weight you lose when you control calories and exercise.

Vitamin C has no effect on weight loss, but it's good to take it if you don't get enough from your diet. Your body will use what it needs and discard the rest in your urine, so it doesn't do any good to take very high dosages.

Hope that helps :)
