Default Stopped by PCC and got the best dinner from their deli

I got "Emerald Salad" which was kale and other dark greens, yellow/red peppers, wild rice, olive-oil based dressing and spicy tofu and spelt. Possibly the best super foods dinner....ever!

Well let me guess... you are talking about the new one in Redmond? I stopped by there and was very unimpressed. I guess I am spoiled by being used to Central Market.

I used to go to the one in Issaquah all the time when I worked out in the Sammamish campus. I thought the new Redmond location was fabulous, I'll definitely have to check out Central Market!

It sounds delicious! I'm not lucky enough to live in an area with stores like that. The nearest similar store is 100 miles away. However, Jennifer and I do occasionally travel the distance, with a couple of coolers in the trunk I shop at the local farmers market, and order lots of grains (etc) online and depend on good cookbooks.

We have a Central Market and Whole Foods but nothing like that PPC store. That looks like a GREAT place!

I was looking thru the recipe section and found several that I'd like to try!

We don't have PCC here, but there is a Bristol Farms Market opening soon. I hope their foods are equally as good.
I've heard the deli at Clark's Nutrition is good, but there are not many of those stores around (and my local one closes the deli on Thursdays and Fridays--my DH and I lunch together on Fridays--bummer).

Well in Indiana you wouldn't be very likely to be in the loop so don't feel badly.

PCC stands for "Puget Consumers Co-op" - Puget Sound (Seattle area) region.

Well I can't speak for other areas... but the new PCC near Redmond does not compare to the Central Market in Mill Creek... in fact about 12 of the PCCs would fit into CM. A lot of people around here really like the PCC stores though! We also have a brand new Whole Foods which opened up in Redmond (near where I work) -- walked down there last week and wow they sure have huge deli sections but big $$$. I didn't have much time as was just on lunch hour but looked like some great produce!

I'm wondering if your Central Market is the same as our Central Market anyway?

http://www.centralmarket.com/cm/index.jsp

This lists locations that are only in Texas. Hmmm ...

I am not aware of the Issaquah confluence you mentioned... it's not that far for me but certainly farther than I want to drive for groceries... but since I have two Trader Joes not far away and did not like PCC I suppose that is okay. PCC would not even grind top sirloin for me... sheesh, Albertson's will do THAT!
