Default Maintaining with the band?

Hello everyone,

I have a question for all the lapbanders at goal.

I reached goal last week, and am still losing weight. I am booked in for my tummy tuck on the 15th of August, and do not want to lose anymore weight before then (my plastic surgeon thinks he will take off anywhere up to 10lbs of belly skin and fat)

How can one maintain with a band? I do not want to have any fill removed, or eat more calories. And the thought of not exercising is like thinking about not breathing!

So I feel pretty stuck. I am determined not to go back to my "old life", but losing too much weight is a scary thought too.

I may have to give in, and have a slight unfill (I am at 2.8, in a 4cc 10cm band) But would like to see what esle I can do, before messing with my restriction.

Thanks,
Sam.

Sam,

First CONGRATULATIONS on your WL and the Tummy Tuck !! WHOOT!

A slight unfill, and I mean slight may be all you need. I agree with you, losing to much weight is not a good thing. I vote teeny unfil.

Good luck !!!

Hi Sam,

Great job on your weightloss! I'm with Ms. Leens - I think you should go ahead and get a slight unfill. That's how your band was designed to work, right? And, if you start gaining, you can always get refilled later.

Good luck with your tummy tuck!

Sam, I don't blame you for being afraid to let it go, your fears are very real to us bandsters. You must be excited for the tummy tuck huh?
