Hello everyone,
I've been lurking on this community for a few weeks, and finally decided to join. My name is Yelena, 20 years old, and I was just diagnosed with PCOS, though technically doctors have been suspecting it for years. I was a lot heavier when I was younger, and lost 35 lbs through watching what I ate and Curves. Just recently, the doctors re-tested for PCOS, and determined that I had it. I can relate to many of you through all those oh-so-lovely symptoms (acne, excess hair, wacky periods), so I just thought I'd join to chat and incase I have any questions. I'm only now starting to figure out this disorder.
My doctor has put me on Yasmin and Metformin (500mg twice a day), and I'm trying my hardest to lose more weight. (I lost the 35 lbs a few years ago and have since plateaued, though kept the weight off. Last semester I finally gained a few pounds back, which was a wake-up call to get my butt back into action! I'm currently 141 lbs, and only 5'1, so I would love to lose 30-35 more lbs.
