Hello eveyone,

Doesn't it seem like September has flown by??

I was away last week on business, came back weighed-in and almost died because the scale was up 3lbs!!! The WW weigher noticied my horrified expression and tried to calm me down, was it my cycle? how about water retention from the plane?? I just couldn't believe that I had actually eaten that much to gain 3 lbs. I tried to let it go, but it bothered me all week.

So this past week, I went back on plan and when I weighed in - I lost 4lbs!!! So now I'm net down 1! I learned something, it's not that I put too much emphasis on the scale, I think I've gone back and forth on that one.

What I did learn is that - this stuff works! :D

I'm sorry to get so deep on a Monday morning. I haven't even had my coffee yet.

Well this week I've only lost 1 pound. But my monthly visitor is on her way so I'm not taking it too much to heart. I know I worked hard.

I'm down 3 this week - I've made it to Onederland! I've also exactly made my 4th 10 pound goal for a grand total of 40 pounds lost. Just wanted to thank everyone for all of their support so far.

Beth and Fluff: I agree with Newfie--a pound is a pound!!

I lost 8 lbs from last week--the 7 lbs I gained plus an additional pound, so my net loss is ONE!! I am right on target for my Halloween goal.

It's finally starting to click--this is a LIFESTYLE and not a DIET. I have to be OP DAILY and not just during the week.

Yeah Dee!! :hat: I have been waiting to read that! How does it feel????

I am down 2.3 this week, a nice number after last week's .8. I don't expect to see much poundage lost in the next few weeks because I started Body for Life today. Although I have been lifting for about 8 weeks now, this time is pretty serious stuff. I am expecting to see size change but not a lot of lb. change.

I'm not weighing in for another 13 days because I decided after my obsessive weighing and mini-meltdown last week I can only do it once a month or I'll end up losing my mind! Congratulations to everyone on their losses!

A huge congrats to you Dee! How exciting for you! I bet your pumped! Woohoo!!

Dee - Congrats on amking it Onderland!!!!

I lost 2.6 last week. I indulged in some emotional eating last night and managed to get right back on plan today. Big step for me. I am learning day by day.

SANDI--You go. I'm so proud of you for making it through the emotional eating and not giving up. You are well on your way.

I'm also trying to not weigh in so often to keep it from being just about the numbers. I may weigh in next week since it will be two weeks.

Good for you for getting back on track right away and for your loss this week. Every step towards this becoming a lifestyle is a boon to your journey. Eventually, it will not be emotional eating...it will be emotional butt-kicking workouts, an emotional bubble bath, or a good cry!! Keep it up!

Down one pound. Slow but sure will win it for me. Otherwise I get too frustrated thinking I should be losing more quickly. This time, my mantra is "one pound a week". In a year, I'll have lost over 50 pounds, and learned a whole bunch of good habits.

(Actually, if I look back over my Fitday for the past four months, it is an average 1.11 pounds a week I've lost. And that's with the 6 gained after vacation, and a month-long plateau where it didn't seem to budge at all. The longer-term outlook really seems to be helping me stay encouraged this time.)

Whoa. Everyone is moving along . . . I am down another 2 pounds this week. Just too surprised. After a week of 14 family members here over the weekend and going out for a birthday celebration (Pappadeux's Restaurant), I thought I would just stay the same. Maybe I can make this a lifestyle change. Kuddos to all for sticking to it. J

I'm down 2 this week. I'm also trying to force myself not to step on the scale more often than once a week. I know better and almost always my weights are all over the place. I'll be down 4 and elated, then up one and horrified. You would think after all this time I'd know better.

I'm going to try and catch up on the rest of threads tonight from home.

Hi everyone!!

Good job on all the losses. I stayed the same this week which is better then gaining I suppose. I have a problem though I think because now that I am walking on my treadmill alot I think I let myself eat worse and here inlies the problem. I am really going to have to work on that. It does't help however that I had a candle party last night and made lots of snacks like nanimo bars and ultimate cheese dip and toquitoes and jalepeno poppers etc etc. HELP!! I am my own worst enemy!

This is my first time posting to this group, and I can jump right in and say I'm down 1 pound this week, which I'm pleased with, as I definitely took a turn "off plan" this week. Nice to know I can do it and then go back ON plan!

I'm down a little over 2 pounds this week. It is 15 pounds now since I've been weighing in again. There was a good 2 months that I was losing weight before I got the courage to jump on the scale, so I don't know what my real beginning weight was.

I'll add two more paper clips to my chain when I get into work this morning.

Lost 1 lb this week, down to 265. I only lost 3 lbs for the month of September. I really need to get back at this. I got a little complacent these past couple months after losing so much itís easy to just go into cruise control and ease up. Anyway back at it strong and hopefully next week will be better.

Ditto to what Howie said. I am down a pound this week, back to 209. I'd gotten up to 211 after the Maryland trip and it's finally off. There's nothing like being home and having more control over what I eat! We planned well, bringing a big bag of a low-fat granola mix with nuts -- problem was, we got the munchies and ate the whole thing the first day there. Went downhill from there. ;)

Back at 'er, though!

Yay, I lost 2 lbs this week :-)

I had some really bad days but my overall intake was good. I am working on making better food choices in the next couple of weeks.

I found this site today while looking for Wasa Crispbreads..maybe some one was trying to tell me something... :lol: but the site looks very interesting and helpful for anyone trying to lose weight.
Im not sure if I can be here or not though. In May of 2004 I had gastric bypass because I no longer could stand the pain of my knees and hips and back.. I wasnt interested in the weight loss just wanted to lose the pain, and I did. I also lost 75 lbs which turned out to be a major surprise for me. I thought maybe 50 surely not 75 but anyhow...now I have hit a snag. Im not losing at all any more...and I know that its very possible to gain all of this weight back. Believe me, I do not want that. So I will take advice from you guys..follow what you do, and maybe I can lose more weight. I have since found out..I do enjoy the weight loss and the smaller clothes...My husband doesnt enjoy the weight loss.. :lol: he prefers me heavier...he has issues...but, this is all for me now...
Thanks guys for giving me the time to at least vent.

Hey, Janet - welcome! You'll be happy to know you fit in here just fine, m'am. As a matter of fact, there's even a weight loss surgery forum where you'll find lots of folks in the same boat as you. Take a look around - there are forums for everyone at 3FC.
