You all have been busy!

Crystal, sorry you are having a rough time. I could tell you some stuff about my DH...he is more like yours than I thought. But let's not dwell on that, I don't want to jinx the good day I am having with him home... I am always here for you and am fine with you venting your frustrations with me as well. Sometimes it just helps to talk about it with someone else when you know your dh won't even listen. I can give you my number, too. I also have a free long distance plan, so I can call you anytime as well.

I am having an okay food day, but no exercise so far. Doubt there will be, it's Bible study night. I am tired. Christian isn't sleeping at night and now is running a fever. I may not be going anywhere.

Gotta go cook dinner! Be back later.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Love you gals!!

Hey guys! I just got my walk done and so far I've done 9 miles for the week!! I'm excited!! Today I asked hubby if it looked like my belly was getting smaller and he said yes!! I hope he is being honest and not just telling me what I want to hear.

Sarah - I'm so glad you didn't take my comment as catty, I want you to know that I had to tell myself the same thing and get my butt in gear.

Spryng - Ty so much for the WW stuff you are so great!! If I ever get bored with SBD thats gonna be the next one I try. Also can you tell me how many points I can have in a day with my current weight stat below :) I'm 5'4" 236 (although the scale said something NICER this morning!! Weigh in on Sunday!!)

Crystal - I really hope you're feeling better. I want you to know that if you ever ever need someone to talk to I'm definately here for you, please don't forget that. :grouphug:

Geri - Has Will gone on another bike ride? How are the brakes going ;)? Hope all is well with you!!

Penny - Wherreeee areeeee youuuuu?? Check my fitday! I've done awesome today! Got in my workout and I feel wonderful!!

Ricci - I hope your day is going well!!

Ginny - So glad to see you got a whole post in with out your computer being a b**ch lol ;) Thanks for the advice on checking out ebay for ww stuff I saw they did have quite a few listings but right now we are having to be tight with the cash lol. My medical bills are catching up with us.

Leigh - I can't remember when you get back from your Vacation but I hope you are having fun! Rekindle that romance girly ;) :cheer:

Jessi - Are you lurking out there girly?? Come let us know how you're doing!

Cindi - How are things going for you today?

If I missed anyone else blame my head not my heart hope you are doing well!

Well on the flipside Teagan went to the doctor today for her well baby check and immunizations listen to these stats girls:

weight : 19 and 13 and 1/4 oz in the 95%
Length: 28 inches in the 97%
Head: 17 1/4 inch in the 80%
She will be 7 months old on the 13th of this month and the doctor said they are really impressed with her mobility for her age and that she is pretty advanced *proud momma grin*

Ok guys I'm taking a big step here and I'm gonna put up my Before pics from a few days ago it makes me sick to look at them but it is something I need to do to make this journey worth the trip :)

Hi girls. Not that much has changed since dh isn't home from work yet, but I am feeling alot better. I think I made things sound worse than they really are. My dh does have some good qualities too. I'm ready for him to get home so I can start pointing out some of the good things. Here's one...he always makes me laugh. I always said I would marry someone that made me laugh and he does it. He has a beautiful smile and great eyes. He's tall and thin with short hair. In fact he's almost 6'2" and I'm only 5'3". I'll think of more later.
Michelle, I think you look fine. Don't forget that it takes like a year or more before they say you get anywhere close to normal again. I'd say you're doing fine. How big was your daughter when she was born. My son, Andrew, 17 months was 8 lbs. 4 oz. He has ALWAYS been in the 95% for his weight, height and head. He was 32 lbs. now more than Ally and she's almost 3 years.

Thank you girls so much for your support today. I think that is what has made me feel so much better. I guess for the most part Kevin is a good guy he just has some bad qualities but we all do.

Okay I'm going to post again with an idea I had. After today and you girls have acted like some of my best friends as if we've known each other for ever, I thought we should share some not so personal info about ourselves so just follow my lead. This info is for all of us not just me.

Michelle, you are a pretty mama! You inspired me to take "before" pics of myself as well!

Ugghh. I am having a rough day. My parents LOVE to tell me how to take care of and raise my son. Is it normal for your mothers or mom's in law to say to your kid: "Come to mommy" Or "My boy (or girl)"? . I've asked my mom to quit that and she won't. She told me I'll just have to deal w/it. I don't want her watching my son until this stops.Time to go on evening walk...:moo:

Later girls!
Sarah

Thank you guys for the compliments! you made my day!

Sarah - OMG!! I would flip out if my mom was having my kids call her mommy I would just go berserk!! That is NOT something you have to deal with and you need to set her butt straight. Yes my mom and mil both have told me what to do with my girls and I don't particularly care for the advice lol. When my kids were first born my MIL had told me that it IS ok to put her to sleep on her tummy...even though I tried pointing out that times have changed and there is scientific evidence that shows that the back to sleep is better for baby. Just hang in there and let most of it roll off you, but if it were me I would not put up with ANYONE telling my kids to call them mommy. Thats just wrong.

Ok girls I need to go get dinner prepared.
Love to all
Michelle

Crystal - You are a such a great person. :)

Sarah, that is not normal. I think you need to tell your mom, very sturnlike, your son will not call her mommy and she better never say that again. I haven't had that problem with my MIL. She was never much of a mother to my son so she isn't like that now. My mom has done a few things that I've had to say something about. If I'm standing right there watching my son get into something I wait to get on to him until he actually gets into it, but my mother, with me standing there no doubt, will start getting on to him. I've said, uhm, mom, I'm right here. He's my son, I'll get on to him. Or she's told my daughter to tell her yes ma'am and I think that's for me to tell my daughter. Besides, I wasn't brought up to tell my parents ma'am and sir only other people so what the big deal was, I don't know. So yes Sarah, that is strange and you may have to get rude, but I'd make her stop.

Michelle and Cindi, do you two take Synthroid??? My sister is on it and is pregnant. They tell her it's okay to take while pregnant, but she wasn't sure. She's not one to take medicine. Did you take it while pregnant? Did it effect your pregnancy or labor or delivery? She was just wondering...

Good evening all!
Well dinner hit the spot tonight. I ended up making chicken spaghetti and the kids ate it up. Tanner just enjoyed the garlic bread, lol.

Yeah, well I've been rude, and it doesn't matter. She stopped the Mommy thing after the third time I've told her to stop, but she still says "My boy". I've told her to stop, she doesn't care. It is such a slap in the face! I've decided she won't watch Kyle until she stops that stuff completely. She says I'm being possessive by not letting her say "my boy". I wasn't being possessive, but her not stopping has gotten me a bit freaked out so I am less enthused about her spending much time w/him...even when I'm there. My parents don't like I hold him if he's been crying, they think it's un neccessary for to change his diaper every time it's wet (I change it between naps, like every hour and half to two hours) They think I should change it only when it's poopy. And I don't make formula the way they think I ought to and they think I should quit breastfeeding all together. I am so MAD!! I don't even want to hang out w/my mother on Mom's day. I will since I have grandparents are in town .

Now I really have to go for my walk...

Ok, I was going to get personal earlier but Dh called and I had to cut it short.

Sarah, maybe you can get your mom to call your son "my grandboy" or something to show that she is his grandmother and not his mother. Hey I butted heads so many times with my MIL because of doing things differently than she did with her kids. I still do at times. It happens and is normal. But stand firm with your resolve, don't let someone else try to conform your parenting to their own. Everyone has to do it their own way. Hope you got your walk in and you feel better now.
Michelle, that is so great that you posted your before pictures. Just think in 9-12 months from now you'll post new ones and you won't even recognize yourself!!! i wish I would have taken my before pictures. But now I just have to go on memory. oh and your target pts would be 28 per day and 35 flexpoints to use during that week to go along with it. I get 20 pts a day so 28 seems like alot, you could eat well on 28 pts!
Crystal, so glad you are feeling better and so glad you called!! It was nice to place a voice with your name! You do sound very texan :) And I am sure you and your dh will work things out. Hang in there! :)
Penny, so glad to see a post from you today, I'll be looking forward to another after your dinner is over :)

Well that is all I have time for. I'm going to clean up my kitchen and get ready to go tan tonight. TTYL!

What Would You Have Done If You Hadn't Gotten Married: I would be a single mom raising Taylor on my own probably still living with my mom. I too am soo grateful I've met hubby!

Now if any of you think of any other things to add, please do so. I'm gonna either print or write all this out so I can remember these things about y'all and feel like I'm closer to you.

OMG you guys I put my meals for the day into my fitday journal and I'm only having like 550 calories today its crazy but, I'm not going to eat more if I'm not hungry but maybe before bed I'll have a snack I just don't think my calories should be that low for one day.
Dinner is: a large chicken breast stuffed with zucchini and mushrooms sauteed in 2 tsp smart balance spread, 2 tblsp of lite italian dressing on top of the chicken, and 1.5 cups of cauliflower, 16 oz of crystal light and 32 oz of water

I can't wait for my official weigh in day!!

Crystal - I didnt start taking my synthroid until after I had Teagan and then I had part of my thyroid removed. But from what I understand, that if your thyroid is not undercontrol while you are pregnant then it can cause your baby to have thyroid problems as well. I was actually hyperthyroid when I was pregnant but I had a goiter on my thyroid causing excess production of the hormones, they didnt want to remove it then because I had already had so much stuff done while being pregnant, I just had weekly ob/gyn visits and they constantly checked baby I had a u/s almost every 2 or 3 weeks. After I had baby I got the goiter and the lower right lobe of my thyroid removed and now I'm hypothyroid. My surgeon said he is suprised that I didn't have any heart problems while I was pregnant because of all the hormone in my body. I really don't think it will hurt your sister, if anything it is good for her and baby. :) But then again I've only been on it for about 2 months.

ok guys my dinner is done cooking so I'm gonna go eat. I'll post again later.

love
Michelle

My kitchen is clean and kids are eating dessert! That NEVER happens here! I am so happy about that! What I am not happy about is that dh went for his orientation at his new job and found out we can't afford for him to work there! The benefits are crappy and expensive! Don't know what to do now. On top of that, Christian has a fever. Seems like he is sick once a week. He has a checkup appt in the AM so I am waiting it out. I can't afford to pay 25% of everything with this many kids on what he makes. Maybe he should just stay self employed.

Sorry to be fussy!

Sarah, Nothing normal about calling anyone but you mommy!!!

Crystal, I will answer your questions later when I have uninterrupted time, which isn't now

Well, I haven't done so good today. I haven't been really tempted, I think I got ahead of myself thinking I was doing really good. And with the approaching TOM I think it blurred my vision somewhat. But I'm not letting this get to me. I'm on a long journey to weight loss and I'll have many more of these times on the path. I'll just deal with it and handle it. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll start from scratch. This week really hasn't been the best. Let's see Saturday was the garage sale and we all know that wasn't good. Sunday was okay except we didn't eat here. Monday was my hurt foot, Tuesday was my toothache and today I've been in the dumps all at the same time of approaching TOM. I sure don't want you to get the wrong idea about me, I am NOT a complainer that's why I'm complaining. If that makes sense...All these terrible days in a row are worth complaining about. That's another one of my problems, I never complain but everyone else seems to get to, my dh mostly, so I want my fair share.
Look cartoons are in the background and I'm just rambling. I'll check in later. I'm sure you girls are ready for me to go to bed and start fresh tomorrow.

Sorry for going on and on...TTYL.

Crystal sweetie, we've all been there!! I've had a rough few days too. I think they call it baby blues. I cry for no reason , and I am not a person that cries easily...I went a whole year w/out crying once. I'm thankful we have tonight and tomorrow....

Michelle, Good job w/your nine miles this week!! You rock.

Spryng, It's really cool we're the same age. There aren't too many 23-24 y/o sahm's that I've met. I don't feel so alone anymore! Most of the women in my neighborhood are much older than me it seems, and they work or they seem weirded out by the age difference.

Just out of curiosity...are there any Dr.Laura fans in here? She is VERY supportive of sahm's for those of you that never listened to her before. However she can be brutal on people (usually to those who deserve it, sometimes on people that don't)

I WILL be strong again tonight and not give in to the sugary temptations Steve brings home! I have to visually imagine what I'll look like at goal and tell myself I'd rather be a size 10 than a size 18. I'll report back in the morning! :drill:

Goodnight girls!

Hi ladies, I tried to join the thread the other night, but I don't think I was logged in properly, and wasn't able to send a greeting. I would love to join your group. I am a SAHM, recently relocated to the midwest from Southern California. I have three children, the youngest of whom just had his first b-day. I put on alot of weight with the pregnancy, but I had also gained some in the year before I got pregnant too, so I have more to lose than I had ever imagined I would in my life. A few years ago I would have introduced myself as an athletic.outdoorsy type, but the move has changed alot of that, and I'm struggling to find new activities to keep active so I don't just settle into my thirties and add lbs every year....NO THANKS! I do get out for walks most days that the weather allows, so I feel good about that, but its just not the same as going for a session at the beach, or something.

Anyways, I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself, I hope to get to know you all better, and help you as much as I hope you'll help me make my goals!

Speaking of goals, here they are!

Current weight 166 ( down a lb! woohooo)
Goal weight 136

short-term goal 156 by June 7th ( 2nd wedding anniversary)

Talk to you all soon!

okay today I asked a poll of some simple questions. I think every day I'm gonna ask one or two more questions that you can be apart of or not if you choose not to. This is for us to get to know each other on other levels other than our weight issues. I've always wanted friends that I know everything about and they know everything about me. I have one here, but we don't ever see each other and we only talk a couple times a week. Plus it never hurts to have alot of friends. So starting tomorrow I'm gonna post another poll and I hope you others keep this info too. I'm storing it in my wordperfect documents. This way I'll always know everyone's b-day and anniversary and other interesting facts.

So with that said. I'm getting ready for a bath and then time with dh and then bed. Yes dh is in a good mood, he doesn't appear to have drank today and he even took the girls with him a while this evening. So I'm gonna enjoy this good time with him and then sleep and tomorrow I'm gonna be totally back on track in ALL aspects. Eating, water intake, exercise, mood, you name it. SMILE!!!

Hi guys!!!

I'm so proud of myself!!! I fit another 2 miles in today so I did 4 miles today and I feel great and I'm gonna soak in the tub and go get some rest and be ready to have a wonderful day tomorrow!! I know that I am going to make it!! Now my calories were only at 550 but I added 3/4 cup of broccoli but that only brought them up to 580 and I'm really not hungry. I don't want to get myself into the trap of eating when I'm not hungry because that only brings back the emotional eating etc...so I'm not going to besides I dont't think I can eat another 400 calories before bed.

Crystal - I love your idea of posting a poll everyday it really is a great way for us to get to know each other better. I'm glad your hubby is in a good mood tonight :) you deserve a good relaxing night with no tension. :grouphug:

I don't know if I told you all but my zucchini/mushroom stuffed italian chicken turned out soooo good!! I think I'll have it again tomorrow. Well I'm gonna go finish my evening routine then soaking in the tub. I hope you all sleep well.

Love to all!!

Religion: Catholic

Kids Names & Ages: William George (Will) 3 years, Anthony Allen (Tony) 11 months

Favorite Time of Day and Why: After the kids go to bed....it's time for me. Will doesn't nap anymore so no breaks during the day

What Would You Have Done If You Hadn't Gotten Married: I vote with the person who responded "dating Mr Wrong...looking for Mr Right"...took awhile, but I finally found him :D

Spryng....3 times a week? Don't let my Dh read that!!! Maybe in our younger years

Crystal..sounds like you're doing much better!

Michelle...watch those calorie intakes. If you go too low for too long your body will go into starvation mode and shut down and you won't lose anything. You must stay over 1000 calories (more like 1200-1500) per day so you don't do yourself any harm. ;) Congrats on the walking!! I never get sore from it but I sweat like a little piggy!!

Favpairofbluejeans...welcome again. I think that some of us responded to your earlier post...great place to be for any kind of support. :)

Ricci...nice to hear from you! Ginny too.

We never made it to the zoo today. By the time Tony woke up and had some lunch it was nearly 2 and we still had to grocery shop. We have the zoo pass so we can go as often as we like without shelling out any extra admission or parking money and it's only about 25 minutes away. It's a great zoo too. We walked outside...no bike ride yet :^: and played in the backyard for a bit but then the wind shifted off the lake and it got chilly again. It was only 50 but pretty breezy so we came inside and tried to stay quiet so Dh could sleep. He went to work when AI started.

Didn't care for George much...too goofy, but didn't think he deserved to be voted off.

Hey...I see some onions poking out in my garden....I'm so easily excited  Can't wait for the other stuff to start. It better warm up...it will for tomorrow then cold again Friday then warm again...will it never stop????

OK, way past my bed time. Hope you all have a great night. Hi to everyone else I didn't personally address :)..nothing personal ;)

Michelle you are doing so great with your exercise!!!! Such motivation! And one day of low calories won't hurt you but don't do it for very long or it will backfire by sending your body into starvation mode and it will hold on to every ounce for dear life. But it sounds like you are listening to your body today and your satisifed. Now about those stuffed chicken breasts, please share with me how you did that! Sounds soooo good! Do you have to pound the chicken flat and roll it up in it or something? Please explain if you don't mind.
Crystal so glad you are enjoying your evening with your dh. time heals all I believe, :)
favepairobluejeans, I remember you from the other day. i think what may have happened was you joined and we started a new thread. When this thread gets 3 pages long someone will start a new one, just a FYI. But welcome again! I am Spryng, mother of 3. I am currently on weight watchers and loving it. I'm at my goal weight now but working on my personal goal. I love these women and I hope you feel at home here. Congrats on the 1 # down!! What plan are you on? I look forward to getting to know you better :)
Sarah it is nice to meet other SAHM's that are our age isn't it? I feel the exact same way. Most 24 year olds are out in the dating scene or starting careers, totally self involved and we are different. We are young but married and raising our familes. I always knew that if I had kids I wanted to do it young so that I would still be young when they were old enough to start families on their own. I have heard of Dr.Laura but never seen her. Is it a tv show?
Cindi I hope your little boy is ok. And I hope the job works out one way or the other.

Well I got my tan in tonight but it may be my last session. teresa stays with the kids in the van while I tan and she has been having problems with my ds (3 yo) obeying her. She was letting them out of their seat belts to play while I was in there, which was fine, but now when she tells him it's time to get back in his seat he screams and hits. He broke her nail once which was painful to her by fighting her while she tried to put him back into his seat and then tonight he was kicking and screaming and causing a scene and she felt so terrible about it. She has tried several things with him but he is my stubborn one. he wasn't allowed to get out of his seat tonight since he was so bad last time yet he did anyway and she couldn't control him which made her feel disrespected and she doesn't deserve to be treated that way by a 3 yo. i don't know what to do. She really wants to make this work because she has 4 kids and knows what it means to do something for yourself, and tanning is the only thing I do for myself and she doesn't want me to give it up since she is the one who got me started. Do they make seat belt things that kids can't take off and get out of??? I don't know. Any suggestions? He was punished severely tonight though for hitting her. I will never approve of my kids hitting an adult. So that kinda put a damper on my evening. I missed american idol, who was voted out???? Who was the bottom 3?
Well, I'm off to scour the internet on advice for out of control 3 yo's. TTYL!

Okay today's poll is this; in a few sentences tell us what you were like in high school. Clubs you were a part of or accomplishments, whatever you would like to share.
Spryng, I know you were homeschooled, but you can still tell us what you were like. :)

My answer to the poll: I was class favorite one year, homecoming duchess for two years and homecoming princess my senior year. I played volleyball and then got a job my junior year. I always had boyfriends and I went to three proms. I had lots of friends in all clicks. Wasn't involved in any clubs. :D

Okay I just reread my answer to the poll and it sounded alittle on the braggy side. I'm sorry, didn't mean that. But they were accomplishments and things I was proud of. Plus looking at me now you wouldn't have thought I was class favorites and homecoming princess, so it's nice to look back on those days. I can't wait to hear about all of you.

Well, I didn't get to spend any time with dh. He was fast asleep when I got out of the bath. And he likes me to wake him up but I just couldn't. He is the boss on the jobsite at work, but his main guy has been out with a broken leg and my dh is picking up his slack and it's more work than he is use to. At least that's what I think is the problem.

Michelle, eat more calories. You need them. I want to know how you only took in that many though. That's almost 2 meals for me. Could you tell me alittle about WATP? I've heard a few of you talk about those but what are they exactly and how does it work? I'm NOT good at following videos. I don't like standing in front of the tv and exercising, is it like that?

Geri, thanks for answering the poll. Hope you keep answering them. Glad you're doing well. If you really read Spryng's response, it was like 3 to 4 times a DAY. I have NEVER I don't think. I can manage 3 times a week on a good week, but between dh being too tired or me, or the kids wake up it's usually more like 2 times a week.

Spryng, I don't think they make anything that a 3 year old can't get out of. I can't believe your 3 yo was acting like that. I would say major discipline and if that doesn't do it you have to start trying new things. Take things away from him, limit some fun activities. You know what, get a leash and find a hook in your car and when she lets him get out of the carseat she can hook that leash up so he can't go too far. If anything, it might be humiliating enough to make him sit back down. My sister just had to try something like that to her two yo. During school, while she homeschools the other four, he wouldn't stop getting into things, she give him a snack, and drink and toys and tied him up next to her. He had a couple feet of slack. He's been better since she did that. You have to become creative. I get on a roll about out of control kids. You're bigger than he is and so is she, you two should and can control him, you have to use his weak spots against him. Hope this helps.

Well, my last Friends comes on tonight. I will be crying my eyes out I assure you. I have started over today. My eating will be better, my water in take will be better and tomorrow is WI so I think I will ride my bike tonight while I watch Friends if I'm not crying to bad. I'll try to ride for like 45 minutes or so if I can make it. I'm staying home today. Fridays I never get anything done around here and this Saturday is the bookfair so I won't get anything done so today will be the day. I'll get caught up on laundry, I'll mop and my other routines. Okay that's it for me now, TTYL.

Good morning all!

Crystal, thanks for the input on my 3 yo. I am still looking into stuff and I haven't tried to find if they make a car seat belt latch thingy yet. For some reason I thought I've seen one but my DH doesn't think they make them because of safety issues, which makes sense. But I need to figure something out. And about that 3-4 times a day, lol :o that was in our newlywed phase, LOL. Before DH left to go over the road it was more like every other day or every two days. Now of course it's only when he comes home :( LOL. Just wanted to clear that up,

Ok now about high school.... I did attend part of 9th grade in public school and then went into homeschooling... then after 9 months I tried a few weeks of 10th grade in a public school and my mom took me out again where I finished my schooling through homeschooling. So in public school this is what I was like: I was very outgoing. I wasn't friends with the cheerleaders though, they were so stuck on themselves but I was chased by the jocks even though I wouldn't give them the time of day. I was so into the rock boys. The ones with long hair and cool attitudes. I did well in school and everyone liked me. Now in homeschooling I was by myself so there really isn't anything to tell. I stayed home 24/7 and did everything on my own, the house work, the schooling, etc. I finished a year early and then got a full time job. I guess I was happy, I can't really remember now. I tried to stay active in church activities since it was the only thing that got me out of the house, I met my DH that year so I guess it all worked out :)

Now maybe you are wondering why I did some public school and then was put into homeschooling. Well to sum it up I have a fanatical mother (who is no longer part of my life) and she would go so crazy thinking I was sleeping around or doing drugs etc (even though I never went out with anyone) she constantly dragged me down to the clinic for drug tests and pregnancy tests even though I stayed a virgin until my wedding night believe it or not, but I couldn't convince her of that so finally I guess she couldn't take what was going on in her own head so she put me in homeschooling. Looking back now it wasn't so bad but then I was so angry at her for ripping my friends away from me and isolating me. But that was so long ago now.

Ok, well... today I'm just doing odds and ends around here. DH will be here tomorrow so I want this house perfect for him (well relatively perfect since I have to live in it with 3 kids, lol)
Penny and Michelle and loved chatting with you two last night!! Lets do it again soon ok?
OK got to go!

well Spryng, thanks for sharing some of your childhood with us. It's sounds like you had a tough time. You made it through. And wtg, for staying pure!!! Doesn't happen much anymore. Now I know why you got married young and quick, LOL!!!! I'm the only person my dh has ever been with. Not that we waited until we were married, but still only being with the one is refreshing. Can't say the same for me.

starting a new thread...don't forget to check out the poll in this thread before you move on.
