Good morning everyone.
It seems like everyone had a good weekend. I fell prey to two cadbury eggs, and they were so good. We were pretty busy this weekend. MIL called to say she was in Joplin on saturday, so we headed there in the cold an rain. We went to KFC for lunch, and I did really well. Then we went to wal mart and she bought the boys each a book. Then we went to the flea market, and looked around. MIL is one of these people who look at every little thing in every booth. I browse, and it takes her 3 hours to look, while it takes me and dh about 30 minutes. On sunday, my grandma, two of my aunts and my uncle came out to see my moms new house, so I took the boys out there to see them. When I got home that night, I had just a small nagging headache, and by yesterday morning, it was a full fledged been hit in the head with a sledge hammer kind of headache. I just stayed off the computer, because I figured that would just aggrevate it. I did get in a work out yesterday, and this morning I jogged for 30 minutes. I can't wait for the warm up this week. Its been to cold to take the boys out side for longer than a half hour.
For all of you who have lost weight :bravo: :cp: :hat:  :dancer: :high: :balloons: :balloons: :encore: :cheer:
Spryng, sorry you had such a crummy day. I know exactly how you feel on the WIC thing. I have been on it for four years, and they always take so long to recertify and all that. I finally just stopped. RJ was the only one left, and he was only getting milk. That sucks about your thigh trainer. Your week will get better. That's all I can remember from the last thread. Hope every one has a great day.

Well, after the way today started out, I never thought I would get here. I overslept, and so had to do my workout just now (but I feel great for it!). I just love that WW video...and the 4 AP's too.

Spryng- just from skimming the posts sounds like you had trouble with that thigh machine. I have bought lots of stuff from QVC and they are usually wonderful about returns- especially if the merchandise was not perfect. Good luck. BTW- how did the beef tips turn out????? The recipe sounds interesting and I will be at the store tomorrow and can get the ingredients. Oh, and BTW- tomatoes do very well in containers as long as the container drains well and they are not allowed to dry out...We have some on the deck every year (in case I am too lazy to walk to the garden).

Ricci- thanks for starting a new thread. Did you get rid of that headache, I hope???
Funny, We went to a flea market this weekend also!!!!! Have not been to on in a long time, it was sort of fun. Don't sweat the 2 cadbury eggs- some stuff you just have to get out of your system- go for damage control and have no more.......you are doing great.

Geri- what are you putting in your garden?????? Gee at least you got the weather to do so in - here it is supposed to rain most of the week. Have fun playing in the dirt!

Melinda- how is SB going (this is day 2?). Glad the PMS weight is gone- makes you feel so yucky. That first TOM post partum can be really rough....better days are coming!

Jesse- glad you are finding it easy to stay within points- I love WW for that reason.

Crystal, Cindi, Michele- anyone I missed. Sorry to cut this short, but I have to make a few phone calls B4 I go to Dd's school to help. Drink that water and have a great day!!!!

Just a quick post to say I'm having a potato-vegetable pancake for lunch and it is SOOOO good. I'm amazed, I had alittle ketchup to go with it, but it's good and only about 5 pts.

Hello again!
Wow, we seem to be starting a new thread every couple of days!! Gab Gab Gab, lol.

Crystal, what is a potato pancake?? Please post recipe so I can check it out. Is it pretty good sized for 5 pts? I had a sandwich (3 pts) and fat free pringles (1 pt) it was good, then I had a snickers kudos bar for a snack (2 pts)
Ginny, I'm glad you overslept!! You deserve it! Of course I'm sure your definition of sleeping in is much different than mine, if I ever get to sleep in it's until 10-11 am. That rarely happens anymore. But that is ok, I kinda like to start my day at 7. And great job for getting in that video! I don't think you ever posted what your WI was for last week... are you going this wednesday? I hope so. I know you feel like you've been on WW forever but you WILL get to your goal!! I know you will. The beef tips came out pretty well, like I mentioned before the onion soup mix makes them very onion-y but I like that taste. I added a can of portobello mushrooms to it too. Very filling over brown rice. And thanks for the info on tomatoes! I may have to get mine going soon. When do they start blooming??
Ricci, I didn't know there was a flea market in joplin. Is it on rangeline? Anything good there? I find year round flea markets carry alot of junk, and I LOVE open air ones. When I lived in california we went every sunday and it was like going to the circus. So many beautiful things and people. I miss that. Did you buy anything? I'm glad you know about the WIC thing. They are horrible about keeping you there forever and recertifying is a nightmare. I'm glad only Tanner is on it now and as soon as he turns one I'll take him off too.
Well my day is going fine. I feel lazy though. I have so much to do and haven't done one thing yet. Not one. After I got off the computer earlier I called my BF to see how she and her new baby is doing. They are great. We chatted for over an hour. Remember me telling you how thin she was pre-pregnancy? 5'7" and 95 lbs on a good day. She was 115 lbs come the birth, and now only a week after giving birth she has a flat stomach again and is back into her size 2 jeans. Sickening, lol. But I'm happy for her. I wanted to visit her this weekend but looks like I will have to wait until next friday or saturday. I did get some pictures of the baby via email, she is very tiny and cute. So this saturday will be garage saling, and a fishing/bbq at the park which I am very excited about. But anway... my thoughts trailed off. Oh yeah, so after I got off the phone with her I changed Tanner and gave him a bottle then Dh called by the time I got off the phone with him Tanner was alseep on me so I couldn't get up. Then my soaps came on..... blah blah blah... so needless to say I haven't got anything done around here. But I wrote out a list and I WILL work hard on this house after nap time, before I start dinner. And I still have to get in a workout today sometime.
Ok... so I guess I'll get off here now. Hope everyone is having a great day thus far!!

Wow, it does not pay to take a day off from this board. Its like letting dishes pile up. :dizzy:
Crystal- Me, too. I'm curious about the potato pancakes.

Spryng-I hope things are better. My sis has WIC and the red tape is awful. Tell your bf I hate her. :D I have had 3 and I always gained tons. Plus my stomach was so stretched. I have gestatonal diabetes and I was on insulin with my third, but with my second boy I was on such a strict diet that I was 12 lbs less when I had him than when I got pregnant! My mom said I looked like a broomstick with a beach ball tied to me. But I never had a flat stomach. My stomach had the appearance of a melted candle. :(

Ricci-sorry about the headache. I can so sympathize. Thats why I'm behind on my posts. I have had one, too.

Well, this is my second official day on WW. I love it. I don't have to plan my meals or spend all my grocery money shopping for just me. i can just eat a bowl of wheat chex if I'm feeling lazy. In case you noticed, I HATE to cook.
Spryng , I see what you mean about the calories and points not matching. I can't help it, I still count my calories but one day I had more points but less calories. But I had more fiber that day. How much protein do ya'll usually average? I noticed protein even chicken breast is high in points. And I feel like I need lots of protein. If I had my choice, I could live off of low fat carbs like potatos, rice and bread, but I still have that Atkins mindset. I'm not limiting my carbs, just wondering how I can get enough protein.

Have ya'll noticed this weather? I live in the south, so our lows for the last few weeks have been 70's or 80's. My husband got up this morning and rushed off to work in shorts and had to come home and change into pants. I hope it doesn't make any of us sick. It is in the 30's. I noticed some of ya'll are in the north. How cold is it?

Well, my 10 yr old has my 2 yr old at the playground and I have to go check on them.
I'll catch the rest of ya'll tonight.

I've been getting tempted today. Not really tempted, just not feeling as strong today. I'll post that potato pancake recipe later on moms losing weight. It called for parsnips, but I don't know what they are so obviously I didn't use them. It calls to make one big one and cut it into 4 wedges at 2 pts. each. It was only for me, so I cut the recipe in 1/2 and made one big one for me. It's called a pancake just because of how you cook it. My kids scrunched up their nose. They think butter and syrup when you say pancake.

Spryng - you're kids are tiny. Ally is almost 3 and she's tiny, weighing in at 28 lbs. She can still wear 18 months up to 2T. My 16 month old son, he weighs in at 32 lbs. He's my beast.

Mary- glad you're enjoying WW. I don't know how you're doing it w/o cooking much. I find I have to plan and cook, which I like to.

I'm beginning to think WW is not for me. I do better when I count calories. If something doesn't have a points value, I'm having to figure it out, but EVERYTHING has calories right on it. I think I can eat more when I count calories. I usually intake anything from 1200 to 1800. I find it sort of hard to make it past 1500. On my points I'm hitting my goal at dinner and I like a few extra for one little snack before bedtime. I'll give it a bit longer, but I think I'll slowly go back to counting calories. It's easy. Almost ALL my recipe books have nutritional info and calories is right there on them, but most of them don't have fiber so I can't hardly figure out the points value. I have learned to keep a journal and I've been doing that everyday. I remember the first time I lost weight counting calories, I would have a full breakfast, lunch and dinner and even make a low cal dessert and be able to have some. I love to bake and love to have a dessert for my family after dinner or for snack before bedtime. I feel like my options are much bigger counting calories than they are counting points. Okay, here I am trying to prove my case to y'all when I know what y'all will say..."Whatever works best for you." Everyone's different I know. I'll let y'all know how and when I switch over.
Listen I just needed to chat before I had to start dinner. See my dinner is going to be 8 points which is quite a bit but calorie wise it's only 371. Kind of low for a dinner. Okay okay, I'm done, I'll be back later. Have a great dinner time everyone.

It's me again!!

Crystal, I always thought it was harder to count calories than to count pts. Plus everything has calories so you have to count veggies and all that too and with pts those are free! But you have to do what is best for you and we will support you one way or another. :) BTW, what did you make for dinner that was 8 pts? My dinner was 11 pts total. 4 oz pork chop, 3/4 cup rice a roni, green beans, and two slices of buttered bread. It all hit the spot. But I like to save 10-14 pts for dinner each day so I can have a big meal.
Mary, my bf had gestational diabetes too. But she did great on regulating it with diet (that's probably why she didn't gain much, she was really strict with herself) but that is what she looked like too, a broomstick with a basketball under her shirt :) it was all belly. And your melted candle analogy was right on! That is what my stomach looks like!! I never thought of it that way, but that is perfect. Oh well... badges of motherhood right??? And God's way of keeping us with only our husband because we sure wouldn't want anyone else to see that!! lol. I don't know how much protein I average or fiber. I don't really keep tabs. But I do try to have protein at dinner everynight and maybe a little at lunch. When I do soft taco night I get tons of protein and fiber. I use those low carb tortillas which have tons of fiber, boca crumbles which are loaded with fiber and protein, the vegetables and ff refried beans which have 7-8 grams of fiber per half cup, and protein. I think that is a very healthy meal. I live in kansas and it's 60 degrees today and going to be 70 tomorrow and then 80 by friday!!!! I'm so glad for warmer weather. :) I hope all the cold stuff is gone until fall now (but I know it's not)

Well, guess I need to get some more stuff done. Dishes are done and that is about it. Gotta go tan at 6 pm so gotta get off here. TTYL!

Back again!!!!!!

Spryng- hope you got your tanning session in...sound relaxing. Aw, don't sweat it if you did not get a lot done today- we all have days like that! BTW- I did not get to WW last week- the one school I pick up from was on a half day schedule (the other was closed) but that took attending WW out of the picture. Kind of hard to be in 2 places at one time. I am going tomorrow, but am not too optimistic about the WI- I have eaten some candy and also TOM is due any hour.....bloat city.

Crystal- I used to make a potato veggie pancake (from the Fit for life book I think) and loved it . So healthy!!!!!!! Did you make yours or buy it?
Opps, just noticed you made it, can't wait to see the recipe.

Mary- WW is great- even if you do not cook all that much. Their dinners (frozen) are pretty good- but a bit pricey. Weather????Hmmmmmm- it is cold and chilly here, and I really wanted to start up the wood burner today. No time to do it tomorrow- but Thursday will be just a cold.
Guess I have babbled enough for one day. I am going to WW tomorrow.....and then shopping. Hopefully I can get back here to post. Have a great evening!

Hi ladies!!

Hope everyones day was good!! I am still doing great OP and still haven't cheated yayyyy!!! I was at the store today and I found a 0 net carb chocolate bar it was 2 bucks but oh who cares man its chocolate :D So for breakfast I made breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs, cheese, and sausage on low carb tortillas so I used 8 carbs there then for lunch I just had a 2 slices of cheese and a glass of Iced tea and for dinner I'm making chicking with garlic herb spice on it and cucumber chips as a side and Jello with Low Carb whipped cream (whipping cream and splenda), So this whole atkins thing isnt too bad once you get the hang of it and find out that there are substitutes for some of your favorite foods out there, unfortunately I haven't found a Low Carb alternative for a nice baked potato lol.

We had to take DD to the doctor today with a nasty case of Pink eye, the poor thing woke up and her eye was glued shut, and then I was looking closer and it was all filmed over and really red so I had hubby come home from work so we could take her to urgent care, Hopefully the baby doesn't get it. The doctor also mentioned maybe we should have a specialist look at her tonsils as they are quite large, If she needs them out its gonna be rough for a bit I'm sure its difficult to care for a toddler who has any kind of surgery done. Not looking forward to it lol.

We have decided that this Saturday is Potty training day, Dr Phil says you can do it in one day so we're gonna try his potty training advice (which is posted on his website) So that means quite a few "potty parties" Please wish us luck lol. :D

Crystal - You should see my 2 yo she weighs in at 31 lbs and is tall Im not sure of her height but she is taller than my 3 yo nephew, shes gonna be tall and gangly and at her 2 year check up she was 97% for her head, 80% for her height, and 63% for her weight this girl has a huge noggin lol, but its a pretty one.

Mary - Glad to hear you are enjoying WW Im sure you'll do great on it!! Our weather here has been really nice yesterday the high was 74 degrees its just beautiful we've already turned off the heat and had the AC on!!

Ricci - Sorry to hear of your brainbuster headache :( Hopefully you're feeling better!!

Well I better go finish prepping dinner!! I'll come post after American Idol!
Take Care!!

Ricci -WOW, jogging! How long have you been a jog? I have tried so many times and I always lose interest. Good for you.

Ginny - SB Day 2 is going all right. Pretty good on the program, but I am so tired. I know someone said that was a side effect.

Michelle - Try mashed califlower, low fat cream and low fat butter. Not as good as the real stuff but I good substitute. Ruby Tuesday has it on there menu and it is on the SB.

Spryng - Sorry to cut you short. JW did not take a nap this afternoon. I hope this is not a trend.

Dinner was tilapia, salad, aspargus. Not too satifying but I am not trying to think about food right now. Just downing the water. Walked 45 min with JW.
I am working tomorrow, but will try to check in tomorrow.

Hey all
I hope everyone is having a good evening.

Crystal-I find a lot I can eat that doesn't require cooking. And I mean "real" cooking. I don't mind frying a egg or heating water. But I eat a lot of whole foods, like apples, potatos, cereal & milk. For lunch I had a tuna fish sandwich and for supper I had a sweet potato. I mostly like to eat here and there all day instead of eating a big meal. I know its easier said than done, but I find if I ignore the temptation sometimes it will go away, but if I still want that something several hours later or the next day then I figure I might as well get it over with. Kind of like impulse buying I guess. As far as the diet goes, whatever works. I'm with Spryng, WW does seem convenient, but if I just started. Someone said, "all diets work, you just have to find the one you can stick with".

[COLOR=Sienna]Spryng-if your friend stuck to the recommended diet, then thats why she did so well. Theres nothing like having another human beings welfare in your hands to make you stick to the diet. Its really strict.

Ginny-I definitely couldn't afford the dinners. i was doing a lot of Lean Cuisine for awhile and it about broke me.

Michelle- I'm happy for you. I can definitely vouch for the fact that the weight will fall off. Sorry about the pink eye and good luck on the potty training.

My 2yo is 36 lbs and almost 42 inches tall. My 10yo old is 5ft tall and 140lbs. He was 11lbs4oz at birth. He didn't start talking good till he was 3 and since he looked about 5, people would look at him like he was ******ed. Its an ongoing joke in our house. A waitress asked us twice the other day if we were sure he was only 10. The adult price started at 12 and I guess she thought we wre lying. I guess we're gonna have to get him an ID printed. I don't know where they get it. I'm 5ft and dh is 5'8".

We all got ready to leave for church and while i was getting ready, dh got on the gamecube, so that idea went out the window. I really didn't want to go anyway. Too tired. Dieting is hard work! :faint: Oh well.

I have stuck to the plan today. Didn't go to the gym, but .......

Hi Ladies,

It sounds like everyone is having a great day! I will post and address everyone in the morning! I have had a full day!

I do have a problem though. ....

My electronic scale is somehow on KG now instead of pounds!!!! So I have no idea how much I weigh! AHHHHHHH!!!!

I am upset though......

Andrew nursed yesterday at 6:30 am and not again until 4:30 pm and he did nurse last night at 9:00 on one side..... Sigh ********

And then today he nursed at 10:30am (i held him off from his morning feeding) and guess what!

He hasn't nursed since then!!!!!!

I am kindof sad. He is growing up and don't need his mama anymore..... :( :( :(

I hope everyone continues to have a wonderful night!

Oh and Geri!
NO LATE NIGHT SNACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello again,

No Idol tonight...I heard it's on tomorrow so I think part 2 will be Thursday? Don't know for sure.

Melinda, glad you're doing good on day 2. Your dinner actually sounds pretty good to me! We had marinated chicken breast, salad, peas and a microwave baked potato (does anyone know how to cook them in the micro without them getting hard on the bottom?? Should I be turning it half way through?? I love them in the oven, but too much work!)

Michele, I'll have to check out the potty training advice. Ds is almost 3 and shows no interest. His ped says not to worry about it. Hmmm. I'm tired of buying diapers :( I hope Dd is better and the baby doesn't get the pink eye. Will used to get it all the time...

Spryng and Crystal...Will's going to be 3 in a few weeks and he's over 40 lbs....very solid young man! Tony's not even 11 months and he's in the neighborhood of 25 lbs or so. They're both tall too. Hopefully I can keep them active as they grow up so they don't take after their parents :o .

Ginny, supposed to warm up here starting tomorrow. Today was supposed to be near 50 but I think it only hit 46 and the wind was blowing off of Lake Michigan making it very chilly. Will was out most of the afternoon with the neighbor boy and his little cheeks were so red! He didn't mind
I had Tony out for a while but I didn't want to stay out more than an hour. Hope it warms up by you soon.

Well, I'm off to watch NYPD Blue. At 8 pm I decided to go take the bike out for a spin...it's 40 degrees out... :dizzy: ...but it was really refreshing! I don't know how far I rode 'cause the odometer decided not to work after I futzed with it for like 3 minutes trying to remember how to clear out the distance! I'll have to have Dh check that out. Rode for about 30 minutes...also did the 3 mile walk this morning :D .

I hope everyone has a great night! I'm going to stay out of the kitchen for the remainder of the night!! Talk to you tomorrow!

Well, it's almost my bedtime, not really, but time to settle down for the night. I didn't take notes so I'm going on memory and for some reason it's not working as good as it used to.

My son, Andrew, which is 16 months and 32 lbs. is in the 95 percentile for his head, weight and height, so he's just an overall big baby. I love big babies though, they are so cushiony and loveable, not that my little tiny 28 lb. Ally isn't.

Dinner was chicken chili casserole. It was okay, kind of bland. I didn't do good today, but I'm switching to calorie counting tomorrow so I will do better. Maybe I can make a low cal cake to fit in my calories and enjoy some chocolate or something. Yeah, this points thing just doesn't work for me. This is actually the second or third time I've tried it, this time I went alittle deeper but it's just inconvenient to me.

Anyway, Melinda, believe me your son still needs you. I am so excited because I've got Ally potty trained and Andrew only taking a bottle at night. I can't wait until I have none in diapers or on the bottle.

I have felt sort of preoccupied today, but I don't know with what. Does that make sense? Has anyone ever felt that way? I don't like this feeling, I feel like I'm not doing something I should or visa versa. Anyway, I think I'm gonna relax in the recliner for abit and watch repeats of Whose Line Is It Anyway? It always seems to make me laugh no matter how many times I've seen it. I hope everyone has a great night. TTYL

HI Ladies,

Sorry to not post for awhile today. I woke up last night with a horrible throat ache and by the morning it surfaced as a killer cold. So, basically I haven't really had much desire to do anything. Certainly haven't exercised much today, but I may try to do some crunches atleast. I think I've stayed OP today, but about mid-day I stopped counting because I didn't really want to go through the effort. However, I had decreased appetite due to the cold so I don't think I went over at all.

Crystal-that was a cute story about your daughter Alisa. Also, the pancake sounded good, it is nice to have something for lunch other than a sandwich or soup, which is what I usually end up having. Anything else it too much effort. I can sympathize with the delima on whether to count calories or points. I like WW points because the numbers are smaller and easier to work with, also they take into account fiber and fat grams. I also like that veggies don't count, and that fruit is usually just one point. Last August when I did WW, I kept a food diary and after a few days it got really easy to count points because I end up repeating a lot and could just refer back (I'm having a tuna sandwich again, that will be 4 points). I'm a little different though, because I'm nursing and nursing moms get more points, so I think it would be a lot harder if I had less points. Anyway, good luck either way!

Geri-Good idea with the Hershey's minis I love chocolate

Ricci-I can understand on giving way to the Cadbury eggs, they are one of my favorites, it is a good thing that the Easter season is over so that won't be a temptation anymore.

Spryng-From your signature it seems like you are very close to your goal weight :) so it won't be long now. You really should submit to WW. I've read a lot of the success stories, and sometimes they take someone's before picture from a group and sometimes it isn't very clear, etc....So probably any picture will do. Your kids sound very cute. I think mine will be small too. I'm 5'1" and my hubby is 5'6", so are chances for tall kids are not great.

Mary-I can sympathize on the weather. Here it was fab all last week and then wam, cold and rainy. I think that's why I got the cold.

Michelle-Sorry that DD was sick today, hope it doesn't spread. Good luck on your potty-training.

Melinda-Good luck with SB. I've read a lot about it in Prevention Magazine.

Well, everyone, good luck! Stay awesome. :^:

Good evening all!

Lots of posts tonight!
Crystal, chicken chili casserole sounds great!!! Care to share the recipe?? (I'm a recipe fanatic, love to try new dishes) I'm sorry WW didn't work out for you, but that is ok. I know counting calories is something you are comfortable with and enjoy some chocolate tomorrow!! :) Have you heard of No Pudge Brownies?? Walmart sells them now and they are very good and low in pts (and cals) you mix the dry batter with plain yogurt and that is all!! Very chocolatey and chewy...mmmm. I have some mint chocolate ones up in the cabinet. They have a recipe on the box to just make individual servings ( it think it is two tbls mix with 1 tbls yogurt, or something like that) so you don't have to make the whole thing if you don't want to. I hope you had a relaxing evening.
Geri, I would suggest turning the potato half way through cooking them. Do you poke holes in them before putting them in the microwave? The bottoms of mine don't get hard and I don't turn them... but I have a very old microwave. I can't believe how well you do with exercise. Great job on doing your video and getting a bike ride in!!!! That is so awesome. What does your Dh think about all the new changes you have been making, along with your body changing??
Penny, it is sad when you see your baby becoming a toddler. With Tanner starting to walk now it makes me proud and very sad. He is my last baby and I wanted him to stay one forever. But I guess that isn't the way it is. I won't know what to do when I don't have any more babies in the house. Maybe then it will be time for a puppy or something for me to baby. lol.
Mary, I wasn't much into cooking either before WW. I was an avid "out of a box" cooker. But with WW I wanted to try new recipes (and it hard to make box dinners pt friendly sometimes) so I bought some cookbooks, ordered cookinglight and been doing pretty good. I was making 3-4 new recipes at first and now it's more like 1-2 new recipes and alot of ones I've made and I liked I make over and over again. Like for awhile I was in love with One Dish Rosemary Chicken with white beans. I still love it just haven't made it in a few weeks. (I have it posted on the mom's losing weight site if anyone wants it) now that I tan in the evenings I've been making simple dishes, but I'm fixing to only tan 3x's a week next week and i want to start really cooking again.
Melinda, I'm sorry we didn't get to chat too but I understand a fussy child. Maybe tomorrow.
Michelle I've made that mashed cauliflower and I love it! It's very creamy and like mashed potatoes. You HAVE to give it a try :) Hope your dd's pink eye clears up soon. I wasn't able to potty train my two in a day but it took about a week when they were really ready. if you start too soon all you train is yourself and stress yourself out. But I hope it works out for you! Keep us updated on it!
Ginny I hope you enjoy your WW meeting tomorrow! Let us know what it was about ok? Even if you don't get a great WI you will get some encouragement. How many people go to your meeting?
Well my evening has been long and boring since nothing good was on tv. After I got back from tanning I started getting so hungry!! I had stuff to make a 0 pt salad but I was too tired to put it all together and my only other option was to open a can of green beans or spinach, both I really didn't want. I wanted a burger and fries!!!! What is wrong with me? I'm usually fine in the evenings after dinner. I had a good dinner and was full when I was done. I got myself a glass of diet sprite and drank more water after I finished that and I am still hungry right now. What to do?? Go to bed, that is what I should do. I stay up much longer and I bound to eat somthing bad. Well not really bad because just about everything in this house is low in pts but I'm at my target for the day so anything other than 0 pt veggies will put me over and I'm not craving vegetables, lol. So I guess I'm calling it a night and heading to bed. TTYL!

Hey guys
Thought I'd pop in for a post before I call it a night. Dh has not had a cigarette in a week, but its really affecting his sweet tooth. So he dragged us off to Sonic tonight for hot fudge sundaes. :( I gave in to 3 spoonfuls and that was it. I figured about 2 pts. I was proud of myself.
See ya'll tomorrow

:coffee: ............ :coffee: ............. :coffee: .............

Okay, I woke up alittle later than I like to. I like to be up about 530 but it was more like 630 this morning. Andrew did NOT sleep well. He gives one good night, one bad night and one soso night. It's just a repeat of that all the time.
Y'all were pretty busy around here yesterday. I know I've got several recipes I need to be posting and I'll get to those today.

Mary- I think you did really well only having a few bites of that sundae. That's when you need to go get one of the Smart Ones desserts for your self. I'd be proud of you if I were you. :D

Jessi- sorry about that cold. I had it last week and I can feel what you mean. The first two days, I didn't have much of an appetite either. I didn't count or anything, but I could tell I just didn't eat much to begin with. Luckily it only lasted for 3 days.

Well, one reason WW didn't work out for me is because I don't like very many veggies. It didn't effect me that they were free foods and the fruit is only one point and they all have calories but I can also have about 1500 calories versus 26 pts. Actually, you know what I look for in a diet? I look towards the future. I say, "Is this something that I can do for the rest of my lift?" I don't think WW is but I know counting calories is. The first time I did this I lost 25 pounds and then got pregnant that's why that was shoved out the door. So I KNOW I can do it because I have done it. I'll just do it again.

See breakfast is going to be homemade, low cal buttermilk pancakes with lite syrup. I have no idea how points is in that but there's only 400 calories. Yum, Yum, Yum.

I hope everyone has a great day. TTYL

Good morning all!
Crystal, you'll have to add it to the message board and then Penny can put it in the recipe thread. HTH Sounds like today will be a great one for you! The pancakes sound great, enjoy!!
Mary, great job on being able to stop eating that sundae after 3 bites. You know my DH managed a sonic in oklahoma for 8 years!! So when I was pregnant with baby #1 I had tons of sundaes, burgers, fries, shakes, and those jalapeno poppers. No wonder I gained so much weight with my first pregnancy!! lol. But it was all free and I ate way too much because of it. By the time I was pregnant with my 2nd baby he had changed jobs so I didn't eat as much junk food.
Jessi, we must have been posting at the same time last night. I hope that cold leaves you fast! Sounds terrible. And yes I am very close to my WW goal, but a ways from my personal goal. I'll have to search some pictures to find one of me that can be a before picture. I just honestly don't think I have any. Well I have some from right after I had Tanner but I was 195 lbs in those! I didn't start trying to lose weight until he was 6 weeks old and I was 172 lbs, so I lose 20 lbs naturally after having him. I don't think I have any pictures of me from then on. But I'll look.
Well today I really am going to crack down on myself and get this house in order. I want everything done by noon so that when the kids lay down for the naps today all I have left to do is mop my kitchen and that is it. So I need to get off here and stay off here until then. :) So I'll catch you in a few hours!! Please send me house cleaning faires to help!! LOL

Just a quick hello...Mom is here already today to work on the garden plot. I told her I didn't usually finish exercising til around 9 and she showed up at 9 exactly! Geez, cut me some slack here :) I just finished and am still sweating! OK, I'll catch up later tonight...BTW I did have a handful of teddy grahams and a couple of wheat thins last night but with the bike ride as exercise I was hungry and I'm not going to dwell on it. Should have grabbed an orange though... I am not aiming for perfection, just improvement :) Wish I could say I made that up but i read it in a book! Have a great day.

Hey, all :coffee: BTW, I hate coffe. Just substitute a diet coke. :D

Crystal-Wow! 5:30 is early. What time do you got to bed at night? Over the years I have found that I'm at my best with 9-10 sleep a night. I wish I could get up at 5:30. Sometimes i do, but it always catches up to me and by 2pm I am dead on my feet. I agree about the diet. You need something that you can do for life. I consider the Atkins a dream diet. I lost 30lbs in 3 months. But I couldn't stick with it. And it must be the bodys reaction to depriving it of carbs, but when I started slipping the weight came back faster than I lost it. Email me some pancakes.

Spryng-you sound energetic today. Send me some of that energy or is it house cleaning fairies? :p

Geri-Happy gardening! Good exercise. :)

Gotta jump in the shower. Then I'm going to the gym. I need some energy! :^:

I am with ya on getting the house in order, just wanted to make a quick post before I jump on it.

I am still so undecided on a plan that works for me. I am kinda with Crystal on the WW thing. I think it would be a lot easier to start out if I went to meetings and had that type of support. I was even looking at that GI diet, because it has the lists made out with red light, yellow light, and green light foods. Seems so simple. But I haven't bought the book. I refuse to until I read the Dr Phil book I have!!LOL!! My answer might be right here and I am just not smart enough to figure it out. So I am eliminating bad foods and adding good foods, and it seems to be working. I just feel so...spastic, if that makes any sense. Maybe I am just a rebel.

I will be doing laundry loads til dark, so lots of stair climbing for me, along with everything else, my housecleaning will be a good workout :o YIKES! Better hop to it!

Everyone have a marvelous afternoon, I'll be back soon!

HI Ladies,

Sounds like everyone is having a great day so far!!!

Got my scale fixed!
It is down one and 1/2 pounds so far and my boobie's are full of milk and my period is still here! Andrew hasn't nursed since 10:30 am yesterday and that was only one feeding! My boob's are full but not hurting so that is great!

Enuf about my boobies!!! LOL

Geri,
Glad you are getting some gardening done!!! IT is cold here again! Not going to rag you about the snacking but that is better than other choices!!!!

Spryng,
Have you ever heard of flylady.net??? I have used it before and it is a great site! They email you and stay on your tail about the laundry, cleaning and such! And best of all it is free!

Cindi,

Good morning. I am taking a computer break. Ihave been cleaning all morning. We have fricken apartment inspections tomorrow. They only give us a days notice, and expect the place to look picture perfect. I just have to finish the vaccuming and wiping down doors and walls.
Who asked me about jogging? Melinda? Yesterday was the first time I ever did it. I found an article about jogging, and it says to start out jogging for two minutes and walking for two. I jogged for two and walked for one. I really enjoyed it though.
My boys are also tall. Dh is 6'4, so what do you expect. I understand about them being mistaken for older kids. It happens to us all the time. Both boys got bikes last year, and they were out riding them. People looked at my oldest ds and couldn't belive he had training wheels still at 7. I wanted to shout he's only 5! Mine are only an inch apart in height, and about 3 in weight. Sucks that I can't pass down clothing. Everyone have a good day. I am off to finish cleaning.

Mary, I go to bed between 1000 and 1100, usually. I like to get up between 500 and 530. I also still get about 2 interruptions a night by mostly my son. I go on about 6 hours of sleep with 1 or 2 interruptions. If I get much more than that, it makes me feel groggy I guess. I absolutely have to get up way before the kids or my day is shot. My mornings are mine, the day belongs to the kids and the evenings belong to my dh. So that's all I got. I do my computer stuff, drink my coffee, read bible sometimes, do bills and such, it's just me time. My kids start getting up around 7ish or so. The pancakes were sooooo good, and full of carbs. Sorry I had to add that.

Aw crum, what is it with me??? I hit one key and the whole post is gone.
So, forgive me - this will have to be short. One dilly of a day....drove the kiddies in, got a call from a Mom that a 1rst grader (who really is a handful) exposed himself to her kindergarden aged daugter, went to WW/ walmart, and now am off to the Dr to get a recheck on my BP.

Bummer- I was up 3#- but with TOM due any minute it does not surprise me.
I am getting a cold to boot, and felt miserable this am while doing my WW tape. I hope to get back here later and leave the gist of what Laura went over this am- it was all about time wasters, and how they impact our ability to stay OP. Lots of good info.
Sorry not to get personal, but I have a really full plate today......things slow down tomorrow a bit! Have a great day~!

Good Morning Ladies...or is it afternoon already lol. Well DD's eye looks much better today and I dont see any sign of pink eye in the baby's eyes thank god :D Well I didn't have breakfast again today but I just finished lunce I had 2 chicken/cheese quesadillas and some cucumber chips and harboiled egg w/ice tea :) so thats about 10 of my carbs for the day dinner I'm gonna do pork chops or rib eyesteak with a side of hardboiled egg and I should come out under my 20g of carbs for the day.

Well....I couldn't resist...I hopped on the scale today...and.....it showed a 10lb total loss!!!!!!! I was at 240 yayyyy!!!! I'll hit onderland soon enough and it feels great :)

Crystal - I couldn't get up that early I would be dead tired come 11 am lol one of the drawbacks of Hypothyroid is sleeping alot lol, I get up about 7 am thats when my daughters usually wake up then nap time about noon which I always look forward to :) Send me some pancakes too hehe jk they are a no no for me :nono:

Spryng - send me some cleaning faeries too its hard cleaning when there are two kids screaming at me lol remind me to slug my husband for thinking being a mother and housewife is an easy job lol

Good afternoon all!!
Michelle, 10#'s down is so great!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!! I'm sure it really motivated you to stay OP! How many days have you been doing atkins now? I peeked at the scale this morning too and was happy to see the numbers... but of course I won't post anything until friday! But it was good so far!! I'm done with my cleaning fairies now so I'll send them your way! They were alot of help, hehe!
Ginny, so sorry you lost your post. Isn't it too frustrating?? So sorry you are getting a cold now and TOM is screwing up your WI, next week will be better. Hang in there and hit some zicam and vit C ok?
Crystal, your mornings are like my evenings. I get in bed around 10:30-11:30 and am up around 7:30. I just can't open my eyes at 5:00! lol. But the kids go down around 9 pm and then it's my time until I go down. Of course when DH is in, it's his time, lol. O-well... have to compromise sometimes, lol. Glad you enjoyed your pancakes! I ended up having an m&m's kudos bar for breakfast. Since I was so busy cleaning it was the fastest and easiest thing to eat.
Ricci, I used to live in apartments that had those inspections. I hated them so badly. It was so hard to clean it to their specifications. I mean, I consider myself a clean person and keep my house clean (it may be cluttered at times with toys and such but it's clean) and they always made me feel like a terrible person. I was in heaven when we finally got out of there. Hope you get everything done and you pass the inspection!! (because the stress of them coming the first time is worse when they want to come back!! lol)
Penny, congrats on the 1.5# gone!! That is great. So is your son taking a bottle or sippy cup with formula? Drying up for me was the most excrutiating pain. I always dreaded it. Took me about 7-10 days for the pain to go away and about 2 months before my milk dried up. Don't miss those days, lol. I hope it is much easier for you. I have heard of flylady but never went to the site. But I will check it out today, thanks for reminding me!!
Cindi, what is the GI diet?? Geri is doing Dr.Phil and having great success with it. Nothing really is off limits (like WW) so you don't feel deprived. Let us know what you decide on. Hope your laundry pile is getting smaller. :)
Mary, enjoy the gym!! Do some running on the treadmill for me too! lol. Boy I wish there was a gym around here. Why did I have to move to no-where land??
Geri, what are you all planting in your veggie garden?? And if you are looking for improvement than I think you have found it, even with your late night snacking at times. I mean you are losing weight great so you are doing something right and obviously that late night snacking isn't hurting you. Except making you feel guilty! lol.

Well my day is going great. I deep cleaned my kitchen and boy does it look great. I'll mop it tonight when the kids go to bed. Bathroom is done. All I have left to do is attack the kids rooms and laundry and I'll do their rooms tomorrow and laundry will get done over the next couple of days. I'm not really worried about it. I had to take my feather comforter off my bed last night because I was so hot! So it's put away until fall probably. Which makes me sad because I love my feather comforter. It is so soft and fluffy. O-well... We only have a window air conditioner in the living room so my room gets very hot come summer so the comforter had to go or I'd die, lol. So now I just have a light blanket. It felt great last night and I slept well. I also got my new WW magazine today and there are a couple of recipes I can't wait to try next week! Plus alot of good success stories that are always inspiring. :)
I guess that is about it. I'll be in the chat room at 2 pm central if anyone is interested. TTYL!

sorry about the double post... didn't realize I did that... oops.

How is everyone this evening? Dinner turned out great! I made breaded ranch chicken and it was very very good! Everyone had been talking about it on the ww boards so I thought I'd give it a try. Along with it I had a big baked potato, 1/2 cup stuffing, and broccoli. Very filling. What did everyone else end up having?
Penny I can't thank you enough for the flylady's website!!!!! I joined today and am so excited to do it! It all just made alot of sense and now I may get my house in order before I know it. Very neat site. Right now I am shining my kitchen sink, lol. Her first job for me. :)
Ok, got to finish up a few things, ttyl!
