Default Sugar Alcohols

Ive read my book, but this is something that still confuses me. Some sources I've read say that sugar alcohols have no affect on blood sugar (this too, coming from my nutrition class I am taking) and then others say they do. So how do I know if something is good? Do I mostly look at the label and see is the sugar is high, rather than carbs? I'm ready to start, but I'm still confused as to what is good and what is not. Thanks!

Melanie

Someone might correct me on this, but I think it is recommended that you avoid the sugar alcohols because they can trigger cravings and a big part of the plan is to break the cycle of craving/eating/craving.

But I could be wrong about this (as about so much else.....)
