Default I saw this on another forum...

Has Anyone Heard Of The NEW Type Of .......
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pacemaker? It's a STOMACH pacemaker. Heard a fast blip about it on the local news, last night.
Seems it would be connected to affect the stomach, instead of the heart. It would basically suppress the appetite. It's about the size of a silver dollar & would be implanted on an out-patient basis. Supposed to be a safe alternative to gastric bypass surgery. They said it was supposed to have a pretty high success rate.
Just wondering if anyone had heard anything more, about it? What do y'all think?!

Any of you heard of this? Opinions Please!!

not sure about this next generation. i have a friend who was in a clinical trial for a gastric pacemaker a couple of years ago, and it failed miserably. and no one knows why. it had reasonable success in europe, but didn't work here. there were probably lots of reasons for that, but no one knows exactly why.

soooooo.. maybe this next iteration is better. we should investigate it more...

This one has been tested successfully on 450 people so far, with no complications, and a lot of success. They hope it will eventually replace traditional wls. They intend to do much more testing over the next two years before it will be an option for the general public.

Looks very promising!
