Thyroidectomy and weight loss --Looking for a little encouragement
Hello everyone. I had a thyroidectomy almost 7 months ago due to thyroid cancer. I have been told several times weight loss will be even more tricky if not kept in check, and that weight gain will most likely happen. This terrifies me as I'm currently in my 270s. I've gained 10 pounds, which I hear is the norm (10 to 30 pounds) without changing my eating habits.
I was hoping to hear about successful weight loss stories by those who have thyroid issues (specifically hypo) or don't have a thyroid any longer, like myself. I know it's possible and would enjoy hearing any positive stories. They're just a little harder to find it seems :/
