Default Maintainers Weekly Chat October 12 - October 18

Exercise yesterday was walking and watching the HONK! parade and performances. The weather was perfect; the nonsense and joy ubiquitous. It's neat to have that much fun for no reason whatsoever.

I did turn down some FREE candy offered by various vendors. That's always a hard one for me. I accepted two FREE granola bars because I simply brought them home to our bin of granola bars for hiking snacks.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day (Columbus Day) which is a holiday for most folks in the United States. And Happy Thanksgiving for you Canadians. (Hope your rotisserie turkey comes out well, Dagmar.)

Oh, Happy Thanksgiving Dagmar!

It's going to be a long day at work today with no mail and no banks open. I'm going to take my knitting in and hopefully finish this baby blanket today or tomorrow.

With our big event in Orlando over, and the Barcelona event not yet begun, our parking lot is jammed with cars at work and I've got documents coming in and meeting invitations in my mailbox.

I need to go through 30 resumes by the end of the day for my calibration meeting with HR.

The last week in October in New Orleans still feels like a dream. I'm afraid that something will happen at the office and upset my plans.

Our Thanksgiving dinner is over and I just put the rest of my chocolate cake into the freezer for another time. Never done that before. me!

Bill We don't cook the turkey ourselves. There is a great Portuguese restaurant that makes chicken and, for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter they also do turkeys. The turkeys are really moist, even the breast meat which I normally don't eat.

Going to take the dog for a third walk now and burn off some of the sugar from dessert. I'm feeling kinda

Good week all!

Dagmar

I had horrible insomnia last night, for no apparent reason. I was still up at 1:30. It's wierd; I hadn't had insomnia in many, many years, and DH would have terrible nights, often 3 times a week while I just rolled over and slept right through it. Then, something changed a few months ago, as though his insomnia was contagious, and now we often take turns having a bad night. I don't get it; it's not like I have any more stress in my life now than I did periodically through my 30s and 40s. Not sure if it's because of age-related brain chemistry changes or just the power of suggestion (watching DH week after week).
