Default Sugar is my drug of choice

Hello!
I am a 42 year old mother of a 2 year old. I am so ready to shed the 20 pounds I haven't lost since pregnancy. I know I can do it but I really need your support! I am currently 152 and my goal is 132. I know that I am a sugar addict but can't go for more than a few days without processed sugar. Any advice is much appreciated. I just started Bikram yoga again for the first time since before my pregnancy and walk my dog about one hour per day. Exercise isn't the problem. Thanks and I'm so excited to be here!

Welcome! I'm new too. Way to go and make a stand! It's great that you've identified your weaknesses. My mother says the longer you go without sugar the less you miss it. I'll pray that this is true for you We can do this!

I feel your pain. I recently moved across country and started eating a lot of sugary foods to handle the stress of it.

I am also like you, I like to get exercise but I love to eat!! I am trying to work on curbing the appetite.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum McButter!! You could try making little changes in regards to sugar intake at first. Little changes in the beginning really helped me to jumpstart my weight loss and by starting out with little changes here and there you're not overwhelmed mentally right away. Maybe cut back on a can of pop a day or something similar if you don't drink pop. Best wishes on your loss!!

Default Sugar addiction

Greetings...
I am just starting out my journey on this site--today.

Speaking from experience (a few years ago I was a member of OA)
--cutting back on sugar has never worked.
When it comes to sugar --I am like an alcoholic...I wish I could eat sugar moderatly, but I am not wired that way

I really need to make a fresh start. i am looking for three people or more? that want to check in once a day- I may however need to take a brief break while I am away( from my computer) for Christmas...

Blessings to all of you who are here encouraging one another

KT
