I don't know if this counts as a "non scale victory" but it feels like a huge one to me. **Please let me know if I'm not allowed to post stuff like this and/or if it should be moved or deleted.**
I've been a writer/author for a long time, and a few years ago I wrote a novel that means a lot to me on a personal level (BIGGER THINGS by Ev Bishop). I'm freakishly excited and proud to say that it has found a home and is out in the world now, available in digital form pretty much everywhere, with paperbacks due out this August.
Its release marks a turning point for me, as a writer and career-wise, yes, but also in terms of finally going public with some of the attitudes and issues I've battled over the years with overeating and undereating and being hard on myself and . . . well, blah, blah, blah. You guys know what our heads do. The story is fiction, but the stuff I explore in it . . . . well, a lot of its issues are (or were) my own.
I also think there's a tremendous amount of power in achieving something, a huge goal, that has nothing to do with weight or the scale!
It feels really good.
So yes, happy, happy blurt!
