Read some of the other intro threads. I just answered one that sounded so much like yours the other day but not everyone reads the intro threads because there are so many forums. so don't wait for people to find you. You might have to go looking for them.
Best wishes on your journey.
I'll give you one tip. DOn't be in a big rush. Take it steady and slowly. Adopt a eat healthy for the long term approach and you will be able to change your life for the better that way. People who are in a hurry seem to slip and struggle more i think. But you still have to be strict about what you put in your mouth. No more of the sorts of things that make you lose control. Its easier to quit them altogether for a lot of us than to eat them in moderation.
Oh one more. Tip 2. Keep an explicit and detailed food diary. quantities, ingredients, if its not processed. Its good to have an objective document on which to look back if all your efforts seem to be failing and you lose your way.
I am 23 and starting my journey after having my second baby (7.5 weeks ago)! I am currently 257 and hoping to get down to 199 and going from there! Our situations are very similar when it comes to starting weight, children, age, support, etc! so I thought I would reply! Oh I am also in Canada, other side of the country though! You're not alone!
