Well, here we go again.

Anyone can join in on this challenge.

Just post your starting weight and your goal weight of 5 lbs off and keep track as you weigh in during this challenge.

First one to lose 5lbs is the winner and gets to start a new post.

So let's bring it on!

I might need to revise my final goal before I finish this one. It was 164lbs but I have a belly and some chubby legs to deal with. So 150s might be on the cards. But we will see. Scarey time deciding on a final weight. Don't let me down mirror.

Aww, Sue. Here's a hug :hug: If you're up 2 lbs but you've remained OP then it can only be water retention. My son's a PT, and yesterday I went to his gym, where he put me on one of those fancy $5,000 scales that measure everything and give you your BMR. According to it, almost half my body weight is comprised of water. So, it's easy to see how water can have such a big impact on weight fluctuations. I wish it were easy to accurately measure the composition of our weight...how much is fat, water, etc. That way we could zero in on the important issue and ignore the rest!

No change for me this morning, but at least yesterday's whoosh is sticking:

Talking about frustration, I think I'm going to give up on this challenge. I have been gaining and losing the same pound for too long. I have tried adding more exercise, eating more protein, eating less protein, eating less carbs, etc. Nothing is working. I'm at the end of my rope here. I'm not giving up on trying to lose weight, I just can't weigh in daily and get so upset with the scale every morning. I'll come back and join you guys once I find out what is causing me to stall. Good luck everyone!!!

I am going to try this again (3 responces have disappeared-slippery keys)..

IAN... you are on a Pendulum... It goes up and down and maybe your body is just trying to find the point of equalibrium... But the best thing... you always have a NEW LOW every week... So I am thinking the next 4 days you will go down down down down! :) I really do...

I lost 1 of the 2 I gained yeserday... sigh... (Had a miserable day at work.. I really work with a B*tch really... and she dumped one of her horrible files on me and said do it... (Guardianship, death, false deed) sigh.... so stress outta the ying yang...

OK... I am thinking we need to have a lbs off dance.... Can someone create it? and we can time it so that we do it all together and cause the lbs to migrate to those that REALLY need them! Who is up for that?! If you all do something different to stop this upward migration.. pass along your idea.. I love to dance, so I'll join you Sue...but not until I get back. I leave tomorrow on an early morning flight, and I won't be posting again until I'm back in a few weeks. I was down a whole 0.5 lb this morning. Oh well, that's better than nothing. As long as I can maintain while I'm away I'll be happy. I suspect it will be October before I get to my 143 GW.

Don't know where the loss of 2 lbs came from.. but I was really angry, frustrated last night and really was going to buy a pizza from Little Squeazers on the way home but saw that it would be 2000 calories and 200 carbs (if I ate the whole thing... which I was thinking!!!!) that stopped me in my tracks and I just ate some Rotisiere chix from Wally World (On sale $4.98 oh yeah)... I was good.. so maybe I was rewarded for my good behavior - tho those chickens have ALOT of salt...) so not questioning... taking my low of this year and taking it! LOLOLOL

Mara.. you are getting soooooo close to the 240's (so you can hop into that thread with me and keep me company!! :) )

IAN... .2 going down is good.. better than adding...I seems like your big drops are on the weekends and your small drops during the week.. But you are still active during the work week and I bet you have muscles now that you never had before (or could not see before!)... Still thinking of less salty food as I think that that is also my problem... (Cheese, and occasional bratwursts etc)...

Thanks Sue. I am not convinced about the salt though. It DOES make me gain but long-term it should not matter as it is only water weight so even with salt I should lose as the water weight comes off. I think I am getting water due to other things. Perhaps I am getting dehydrated at the weekend and when I get back to the office my body is just balancing out again. I dunno.

Down 1.2lbs today. Aiming for less beer and an earlier night tonight. Let's see how that goes.

Back up today. Why can't I leave the 250's?! Okay whine over. Hoping it is still from muscle soreness. I went running yesterday, first time in a few days, and my legs itched/burned so bad. I've been quietly lurking watching you all for a few weeks. I finally started back on low carb today. I expect to get a good loss this first week and then I'll join in on this thread - I think the focus on the short-ish objective of 5 pounds will be really good for me!

and SARAH... Yes you do win if you lose 5 lbs.. Does not make any difference if you are starting, ending or in the middle of weight loss. We all started at one time. You losing so fast kicks our butts into gear more too and gives us incentive to want to try and beat you!... SO YES you do get to declare victory at 5 lbs off!!! :)
