Green tea is not a bad replacement for soda and usually will make you go a lot more. I don't drink it much, but when I do, I notice I pee a lot more. That's about it.
I've recently adopted a habit of drinking a cup of decaf green tea in the afternoon for several reasons. First, my afternoon snack attack is horrible and drinking tea helps me feel as if I'm indulging something without actually indulging anything. I've been working very hard to allow several hours between meals without snacking and this helps.
Secondly, green tea is full of anti-oxidants so I feel like I'm doing something good for myself.
Thirdly, it's very calming to have a cup of hot tea in the afternoon, it helps me relax and relieve anxiety.
I wouldn't say I've noticed any ridiculous health benefits like losing weight specifically from drinking tea but it's a habit I'm very happy with in comparison to most other habits.
Any hot liquids will help curve your appetite. Plus, tea is full of antioxidants. Just be sure not to add a lot of sugar or sweeteners to it. I drink hot tea almost daily.
I've lost a total of 5pounds in the month of August. I drank green tea every morning before my workout for about 2-3 weeks. I had to get use to the taste without sugar (retraining my taste buds, was a 3-5 soda/day drinker), but wasn't bad. Noticed increased energy, weightloss average i guess 1 lb a week seems like. Then I stated taking oxy pro elite and drank green tea, bad idea, I got the jitters, took all day for it to ease off. So I stopped green tea.
My friend used green tea pills, and it worked awesome for her. She use to be a tiny girl in her teens, but the meds she was put on made her gain about 70 lbs. After a couple months she lost about 25lbs.
It's a diuretic. I find it helps to shake up a plateau if you drink it in large quantities, especially around TOM.
I drink my afternoon tea now, like the Biritish now. I have been a latte drinker since I am a teenager. That's about 50 cal per cup. I would not wake up without my drug of choice, but in the afternoon, when my energy crashes, green tea is a fantastic zero cal substitute.
I remember the research on it indicated that those that drank a cup of green tea every day for a year lost an average of 8 lbs. So it may have some benefit but it is slight if any.

I read an article comparing green tea brands years ago and it said that Celestial Seasonings has the best shelf life of the grocery store kinds. It's freshest. Also, I've read many articles that say the decaffeination process destroys the antioxidants, so I always drink regular.
Nope. I make a pot of it, cool it down, add ice and stick it in the fridge. Iced tea baby!!
may i ask what kind do you drink?! and how do you make it?! meaning how many bags do you use.. that sounds like a good thing to do since i have already forgot to drink it.. im going for once in the morning and b4 bed
I make a gallon and use 6-8 tea bags and let the steep a long time. I've used all kinds but right now I'm enjoying celestial seasonings decaf with white tea.
I didn't know that about decaf! I can't drink caffeine so now I'm disappointed.
