Weight Loss Support - Time for SERIOUS FUN #5

View Full Version : Time for SERIOUS FUN #5

06-15-2003, 08:50 AM
Welcome to Time for SERIOUS FUN…..We are a group of people trying to loose weight together and help each other along the way. There is only one rule on this thread, and it is if you are not willing to help yourself along the way or help others on this thread we don’t want to hear you WHINE everyday, we like to keep a positive attitude. Some whining is expected, lol, we are only human. Other than that we love to talk about every subject under the sun. Please feel free to pull up a chair and a keyboard and join us on our journey. Every day of the week we have a little beginning to the day to start us off, for example…..Monday would be Mission Monday……you have some sort of mission to complete in your life for that day or longer totally up to you. Faye is in charge of what day it is and what we are doing, so look for her post if you are interested.

You all can let your hubby's or significant others that I wished them a Happy Daddy day....:)

I had a bit of a binge on the baked goods yesterday that I was baking for the dads:( . I made hubby a pumpkin pie, then I made whoopie pies and cinnomon rolls....and seemed to think I needed to test taste them all? But, today is another day and I will be back on track, so do not pity me!!! You did not put the food in my mouth and I was totally aware of what I was doing, and I enjoyed it.....but it's over and I am back......TA DA....ALL FIXED.

Missy: I think we loose you on the weekend? Hope you are having a nice one.

Jana: Hope all is well with you too.

Deon: {{{Hugs for you}}}

Faye: Good morning dear posting buddy.

Michelle: I think we loose you on the weekends too, hope yours is going well.

Hello to everyone else too, did not mean to miss you, but my brain is still in sleep mode this morning...

SUNDAY: It is Silly Poll Sunday. This is a just a bit of fun for your day!

Deon: Honey, you HAVE to give yourself a break right now. You have a huge amount going on in your life and for one thing, you have to try and drop your stress level. I know it is going to be difficult with all that is going on, but you have to do SOMETHING for even 1/2 an hour a day to get it under control some. I would suggest whatever is your choice for exercise to do it even if it means getting up when everyone else is asleep. It will at least probably help you to keep from gaining if your food choices aren't good right nmow and can really relieve stress as long as you concentrate on what you are doing and not on everything around you for that time. YOU REALLY NEED TO DO THIS! I also want you to think about coming here often so we can be your meeting for right now. You obviously are a person who does better on accountability and we can try and help you there. We ALL will, I know it! I am just an e-mail away and I check it often throughout the day.

Looks like we have some sun for a little while, but the clouds are moving in so I sure hope I can get to the pool.

I am irked at dd again. BIG surprise. They were supposed to take Jack out for lunch for Father's Day yesterday and she never even called! My grandson is going with his father and other grandparents on a vacation for a week today so I guess that is that! She is such a jerk!

My three wishes would be:

1. To spend a lot more time with my grandson than happens now
2. Debt free
3. Get a job I really like

Well, I am going to go. I will check in later to see what's up!

06-15-2003, 09:26 AM
Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that I am back. That is until I find out if I have to move or not. Would wish someone Happy Father's day but I would be told that I am trying to manipulate him so why bother. Ds's father is no where to be found and to me that isn't so surprising seeing how he wont even try to support him. Ok enough said there.

Three wishes HHHHMMMMMMMM!
1. That I would have found this site sooner than I did. Maybe I would have kept us the loss last time and not gainned it back.
2. To have a job that is strictly day shift. That way my son would have me around more than he does right now.
3. To know four years ago what I know now. Things have been a rough bumpy ride but I think that I wouldn't have made the same choices.

This week has been one full of food ups and downs. Mainly I have been really good. Yesterday I had some chips, pork rinds, and cheesecake. All of which I should have passes on, but by eating them I have made a discovery. I have found that after I eat them I get sick to my stomach and I don't want that so I am more determined not to eat them.

Got to work today so I guess that my workout will be all the walking that I get in at work. Hope to get in an ab workout after work. Here's to a wonderful day to everyone.

G'day Ladies,

****looking around for Paul Hogan****** lol

Faye - aww, I wish you could spend more time with DGS, too. But at least he doesn't live too far away. My good friend's DD moved to California and now she only sees grandkids 2x a year. Did you find a stylist you think you will like? The relationship of a woman and her stylist is almost as important as her matrimonial one, lol.

Deon - hope your grandparents are doing alright. I know that puts a lot of stress on you, but just come here and vent, okay?

Peek - you are such a sweetie to keep the threads manageble. My browser and I both thank you!

Sandy - Happy Father's Day! Since you play the role of both parents, it's only fitting that you get to celebrate this day! In regards to the junk food - getting sick after you eat it is a blessing. You won't want to do that very often. :)

Elle - hope you stop back in after your vacation. We miss you and want to know if you caught a salmon!!

Oh Happy Day! I am down 3 1/4 more pounds this morning. Weight Watchers sure makes it do-able! I will be enjoying the discman as my reward. Yesterday I looked at jewery for a 25 pound reward, but haven't made a selection yet. DH offered to buy whatever I pick out, but I don't want him to. This is about me, for me. Does that make sense? It's all about me, lol! Seriously, I want to do this myself.

Have a happy Sunday,

06-15-2003, 12:27 PM
Jana. it does make sense to me that it is all about you. To me if you do this yourself then nobody can take it away form you. That is your sense of accomplishment. That is more important. Keep it up!

06-15-2003, 02:46 PM
First off: :cb: :bravo: :cp:  to Jana for her great loss! You buy something spectacular for yourself, you deserve it. No, I have not found someone for my hair. I am a huge hairstylist bigot for one thing! I find gay men are spectacular when it comes to doing hair. I know I know, but I am telling you, that in all these years the 2 stylists that have ever made me happy are both gay and men! I am so sad about Lee as he was terrific. He never seemed surprised at my hair color changes, never tried to sell me something I didn't need, hound me about what HE wanted out of my hair, only took the idea I had and made it look terrific and he was reasonable too! I am including the look I am going for below, though with a few changes, longer fringe on my forehead and clean lines on my neck and around my ears, otherwise, the hair starts to curl up.

I changed my avatar to David James Elliot. He is seriously easy on the eyes! Nothing like a sailor to make you happy when you are sad. I should know!

Sandy: You my dear are a singularly spectacular woman and like Jana said, our hats are off to you on this father's day for providing your son with both a great mom and a great dad!:cp: :cp: Sometimes our food choices make us find out the hard way to lay off them! Until I started getting real about weight loss, I was sick all the time. Everytime I ate, it was a sure trip to the bathroom with diarrhea because of the fat I was consuming and on top of that I had horrible nightly heartburn. It was awful. I do think you should substitute those goodies with low fat ones though. We all deserve that.

With that in mind, if anyone has a goodie recipe they want to share, please feel free. I am going to find Sandy a nice low fat cheesecake to substitute the high fat one!

Peek: I knew that ole pie and rolls etc were gonna getcha! They just sounded way too good to pass up especially since you were the author so to speak. Today is another day and what's done is done. Just go on from here (maybe give a few more reps on the ole exercise to counteract it? )

Michelle, Elle and Missy hope whatever you are doing, you are having fun at it today!

I did get my pool workout in. I told dh it is so great to find something you love to do and is exercise. He told me that maybe we can find someplace with an indoor pool where I could do stuff during the fall and winter instead of the walking if I want. It is so much better on my knee.

Well, ladies, I am going to go. Hope all of you with husband's, fathers etc are thanking them today!

06-15-2003, 04:59 PM
Afternoon girlies,
How goes the day? Hope all the dads in the houses are having a nice day.

So Faye, who did you say that man is? Is he the one that you all spoke of the other day from the Jag show? At first I thought it may be your son or hubby and I was like wowzers what a hottie he is.....and what a lucky woman that is that has that...lol. By the way I LOVE THE HAIR STYLE, THINKING I WILL STEAL IT!!:D

Humm :chin: 3 wishes????
1. That I and my family are always blessed with good health
2. That I find my way to goal weight in the near future (1 year)
3. That finances are never a problem.

Those sound like winners to me....:)

Jana: I'm happy to keep the thread up to date for you and your browser..;) I so enjoy your posts.

Sandy: hope the day is treating you well.

06-15-2003, 07:16 PM
Peek: Yeah, that is my husband. Uh-huh! No, you obviously don't watch the show. The guy that died was an Australian who I guess was a boxer before going into show business. This guy plays the main character Harmon Rabb. Now, let me tell you, believe it or not, there are a LOT of Naval pilots that look like this. I ain't a kiddin' I used to work with them when I was the big kahuna of our CUb Scout troop. He is a looker isn't he! You should see his real life wife. She is as gorgeous as he is. I am not sure about kids, but they are either terribly ugly or superiorly gorgeous! No two ways about it.

I was just checking back in while I waited for dinner to finish. Better get downstairs and check on it.

06-15-2003, 11:21 PM
Evening all.

Faye love the style I just wish that I could be bold enough to carry something like that off. I have lots of hair comming out and I don't think that I ought to go that short as much as I love it though. Thanks for the looker that you are now using. A little something to brighten up everyones day. I appericate the offer of you finding a lowfat cheesecake for me. Food has went really well today. For that I am thankful.

Gotta go just checking in. I have to rise and shine in the morning I have to go to the dentist and have a tooth pulled. One of the things that I hate to go and have done to me. Here's to a wonderful monday ahead of everyone.

06-16-2003, 12:20 AM
Yeah, I just thought feasting on something other than food and enjoying it just as much might be nice for a change! Years and years ago, my dh had this pilot in his squadron whose last name if I remember right was SanPaulo. This man was so incredibly gorgeous and the sweetest man you ever want to meet. Most of the pilots are pretty arrogant little jerks good looking or not, but this was truly a really nice guy.

Sandy: There is kind of a mixed concensus about hair loss and length. Some say shorter haircuts make the hair loss less obvious while others say you can cover more with longer hair. I think it is a toss up and you have to do what is the most comfortable for you. I am strictly a short short hair girl and have been for years. I think I only had long (shoulder length) hair once when I was about 8 or so and then in high school had a shag for awhile when I was dating my dh and it was popular, but other than that I have had short hair my whole life. Now, color that is another thing. I have been every shade of blond there is and an assortment of redheads. I am a natural blond that started going dishwater in junior high and have colored my hair ever since. It is a wonder I have any hair, but I do take good care of it hair product wise. I am truly truly lucky that even though I have super fine hair, it has body in it and it is easy to work with when it has a good basic cut.

Well, tomorrow is mission Monday. Be thinking of how you can accomplish a mission of tolerance. We will talk about it more tomorrow.

06-16-2003, 07:40 AM
MONDAY: Mission Monday. Today's mission is tolerance.

We need to look within ourselves and practice weight loss tolerance. We need to learn to tolerate foods that are not so good for us. Understand they are not bad foods, just foods that will prohibite us reaching our goals. Tolerance for ourselves when we make bad food choices for a day, week, even a whole month. Understand that we are not perfect human beings and are going to fail once in a while, but that is alright. Tolerance for those who do not understand our struggle. We do not have to accept how they react to us, just understand their ignorance and know we are better.

I hope you ladies all have a great day. Concentrate on our mission for today and take it with you everyday. It will make a difference in how you view your weight loss journey.

 I have discovered a couple little weight loss benefits this morning. I can now encircle my wrist with my thumb and forefinger and I can CROSS my legs. I was clowning around in the bed while dh was dressing (being naughty actually as I sleep nude :o ) and had my knees up and crossed my legs. Not much of an accomplishment for those of you ladies who only have 20-40 lbs to lose, but I couldn't see my feet until recently so this for me is a step in the right direction!

I am going to go downstairs and do my little chores and then go back to bed for awhile. I am not a late night person and was up late last night with a little stomachache so I am kind of tired still.

Check back in later!

06-16-2003, 10:37 AM
Holy snookies! Where'd ya get the EYE CANDY???
Dang, he is one cute hottie!

Uh, **distractedly**Good morning ladies,

I didn't get my wishes in yesterday - but I only have 1:whirled peas, lol!!!

As you can tell, I'm feeling fine today. We had a great day yesterday. Even my son was honored, since he is the twins; Godfather.

Okay, you guys have heard me b!tch about how bad my knee hurts, well, yesterday I was in the kitchen, and my knee crunched and popped - back into place! I can't tell you how much better it is!

Shoot - DH is picking this very moment to talk to me.... back soon.

06-16-2003, 11:48 AM
Well, it's over an hour later, but here I am!

Giggles - Glad you understand where I'm coming from in regards to the rewards. Hope your dentist visit went well... maybe the Tooth Fairy will bring you Big Bucks, lol.

Faye - love the hairstyle for you. I am so tall (5' 9") it would make me look butch, lol. Congrats on the NSV, too!

Peek - Hope all your wishes come true.

The last couple of days I've been leaving some water in the pitcher I use for my daily amount, so today I told DD16 that if I don't drink it all, I'll pay her $5. And I made her promise she wouldn't sneak more into it, lol. That way I'm sure to finish it!

Better go and get busy!

06-16-2003, 11:56 AM
Hey chicklets, I'm here, just at work, did not have time to pop in this a.m.

Jana: Good luck getting the water down, you can do it...I'm workig on the water factor again today too. I feel like I'm going to float away.

Sandy: Good luck at the dentist......hope it comes out without to much pain.

Faye: You crack me up. Love that you discovered new things about your weight loss, and I bet hubby loved the new discoveries too.....

Tolerence: Okay, I will tolerate myself not being perfect. I will accept that on occasion I will fall off the path of my journey. Now I need to work on getting back on the path once I take that wrong turn.....but today, I am on the straight and narrow so far.

Hugs to you all,

06-16-2003, 12:08 PM
I am sooo glad you guys appreciate my trying to help you stay away from the Snickers bars.

Jana: He is the star of the tv show Jag. He is one hunk of a man let me tell you. I have even seen him sans shirt on the show. He has a website and I picked one of the photos from there. I had a hard time choosing. When he smiles, you want to melt I am telling ya. Glad the ole knee is back where it belongs. Been there done that.

Peek: I knew you would appreciate my new found abilities! BTW, dh was getting ready to leave for work, so he tried his best to ignore me! No time at 5:30 in the am for hanky panky and he pooped out on me last night!

When I get off here, I am going to start calling around for a stylist. Wish me luck. I don't go cheap because they mess up my hair everytime. They do a fabo job on dh but man mine always comes out like a bedhead or something! I have made my rounds almost with the Gould Salons, but am going to call the one on Park avenue and give it a try. It is not too far away from the house.

I went a little early for my workout this morning to try and beat the rain. Got sprinkled on, but was able to get it all done. Now I just have to watch what I eat today.

Well, will peek in later!

06-16-2003, 12:37 PM
Allllllll righty ladies! Good morning Monday! Technically I am not lost on the weekends. I do have computer access at home, I just fall off the face of the earth cause I am trying to keep up with my men  (and no, they technically don't know about each other...they "sorta do" but not really)! It was just hectic with visiting friends and friends visiting and Father's Day stuff.

Anyway, I did....not so good on the weekend. My two big downfalls were a Krispy Kreme and Fries on Saturday and then some strawberry Pie yesterday. Oh well! Scale looks like it's back up to 147lbs. :( Kinda bummed me out, but I'll try to work harder this week. As I said on Friday, I have been slacking on my water consumption, so that's a new goal for this week. Along with trying to eat better on the weekends. This weekend will be tough with a party coming up. I think too I am going to hit dotti's to get some WW home plan going on.

Plus I'm going to try to work really hard to find myself a new job. There are some computer programs I need to learn and there are some things I could do to punch up my resume. So I'm gonna try to devote an hour to that every day that I can. It's worth it...cause man do I need the money!

06-16-2003, 12:38 PM
Doh! :homer: Just wanted to say too that I hope everyon is having a SUPER day and that we all stay OP! YAYAYAYAY! I missed you guys!

:queen: Missy :queen:

06-16-2003, 01:58 PM
You guys have to listen to it. It is hilarious!

06-16-2003, 02:47 PM
Hi everybody!

Faye, I know your dilemma with hairdressers; it took me what seemed forever to find a decent salon after my original haircutter moved out of state--and he was fantastic! If I had a nickel for every cutter afterward that screwed up my hair in one way or another, well, I'd be a lot wealthier

Then I found two ladies at my nearby Cost Cutters, and they are beyond geniuses! :cb: I finally got quality stylists without putting out a king's ransom for my haircuts--and it always stays nice till I am due for my next cut--which is usually 4-6 weeks.

Oh yes...for those of you that haven't heard about my weekend with my new young lovebug:

Brian's flight came in on time Friday night, but it had taken nearly an hour and a half to get through all the security checks. Good thing we weren't in any hurry, but better safe then sorry in that matter :) Now mind you this guy is only 5'8 and 180 pounds, but the minute he spied me, he comes over, gives me this bear hug, then proceeds to PICK ME UP OFF THE FLOOR! :yikes: It's a wonder the guy didn't give himself a hernia.

We mostly stayed in Friday evening; I figured Bri was pretty tuckered out from the flight and going through security checks at airports, so my friends Siobhan and Marie came by with Marie's dh and we had an impromptu cookout. We were up yakking till 4 AM, before Bri sacked out; he looked so darn cute snoozing away on the couch, I didn't have the heart to wake him to go back to his hotel.

Saturday, we went to the Arts Festival, mostly to people watch and take in the exhibits, then Saturday night, we went out to eat and then to a karaoke place. Sweet and a cutie pie he may be, Brian cannot sing worth a hill of beans! BUT...it's the thought that counts.:D

Yesterday, Brian checked out of his hotel, then we stayed in at my place and watched the race; then went to the pizza joint up the street for a bite before heading back to the airport again. Once again, the security check thing before he could get on the plane.

And yes...for anyone that is curious, we did a lot of kissing too:D

06-16-2003, 03:36 PM
Congrats Lori! I'm glad your meeting went so well!!! Brian sounds like a real stand up kind of guy! :D

OK, I'm working on making my plan up for home WW and I was visiting Dotti's site. Now I have a few questions. What if you can't find the food you want on her page? Is there a way to calculate the point value with calories and such? I'd greatly appreciate it if someone would be so kind as to lend a hand on this! Thanks ladies!!!!

:queen: Missy :queen:

Hello all!

I made it back from Alaska alive...barely. Actually I did ok, but the hubby had a real run of bad luck. We ended up spending alot of money on an alot of nuthin'. My hubby had a white water rafting accident that nearly killed him and his friends. They all made it our alive but very frightened, and bruised and broken. They all vowed to never raft again. So coming from a bunch of macho men who've rafted before, you know it had to be bad. We didnt end up catching any fish, which was a huge disapointment after bobbing around on the river for 9 hours. Then the hubby fell through some snow into a creek, and not only hurt his back more, but lost his wedding ring. Fortunately the park guides found it a few days ago, and are sending it to us. So all of that, plus bunking with 6 people and a dog in an RV made for a pretty rough trip. I was pretty glad to get home. That was the hubbys pick for a trip, mine is Maui in November for our 2nd anniversary. I promise you that it will be quite a bit more relaxing that the last one...Im gonna make damn sure of it!

So since Ive been back, my hubbys sisters father in law...(does that make sense) passed away. So Ive been watching their three kids, while they make arrangements. Poor kids. I dont have any of my own, so it was rough for me being there when they told them that their grampa had died. It broke my heart to see them so sad. I watched them for the rest of that day, so I tried to make fun for them. We did scavenger hunts, played our own version of survivor, and had a water fight. I think it kind of helped to keep them busy in between their tears.

Well, the eating hasnt been anything spectacular, but Im back at the gym with full force, and drinking my water so I dont feel too bad. Its not that Im eating junk food, but Ive had cheese on my sandwich, and things like that. So not too bad, but not going out of my way to make it any better. Its hard to get out of vacation eating. I was happy as pie to get back to the gym though. I think I even missed it.

Hi to everyone Ive met, and havent met!
Take care of yourselves.

06-16-2003, 07:39 PM
Hi ladies,

Peek - my water is all gone!! How about yours?

Faye - I don't skimp on my hair, either.

Missy - good luck with the job search.

Lori - so glad you and Brian had so much fun. How far apart do you live?

Elle - so glad you are back!!! Sounds like you are doing a great job with the kids - you'll make a good mommy someday.

I have spent a large portion of the day burning CD's. You know how you have CDs with 2 or 3 songs on it that you like? Well, I'm combining them and then will give the others away, or put them in a yard sale. Does anyone here listen to Chris Isaak? "Baby did a bad, bad thing" I liked him way before he had a TV show. Which I can't even watch because I don't have HBO.

Gotta go do my exercises...

06-16-2003, 11:03 PM
Hi! Hairdressers, treasure the ones that you have. I have a great guy to do my hair. The only bad thing is that it sometimes takes too long to get in. My visit to the dentist was quick and painless! I am so thankful for that.

Michelle, sorry to hear about dh's accident while you all were away. I hope that he will recover soon.

Lori, sounds as if you have had yourself a wonderful weekend! This one might be a keeper.

Time to get going I have some searching to do tonight. Looking for some rates on hotel for my vacation next month. Here's to a great day.

06-17-2003, 08:46 AM
TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and we are going to target SUGAR!

Sugar is NOT the enemy, the overindulgence of sugar is. Let's try to put our sugar ingestion into perspective today. Think before you pop in the HoHos or that CINNAMON ROLL!

Elle: Good Lord girl, your vacation should be on a show called, "Don't let this happen to you!." Maybe you can get on that tv commercial I think it is Orbitz or Expedia where they are planning vacations and in minds eye have all those bizarre things happen like the tropical trip with the bugs. We are sure glad you are home safe and sound. Go to the store and get you a couple of nice salmon steaks to make you feel better! Please convey my sympathies to your husband's sister's family. BTW, for someone with no kids, you did a slam bang on keeping them entertained I think! Great job!

Ok, looks like Missy needs help with WW. Can anybody get her the info she needs? I have no clue about anything to do with WW points.

Jana: The music industry always gets ya. They put 2 good and 10 lousy songs on a CD and you buy it for the 2 good songs so they make gazillions. The only time you get good stuff are greatest hit CDs. Everytime I think of that I think of that sketch on Whose Line is it Anyway, where Colin and Ryan are pitchmen trying to sell an album for something dumb like firemen. That show cracks me up.

Sandy: I am so glad your dental appt went ok!

Well I made a hair appt for Thursday at one of our upscale salons here but it is with someone named SHIRLEY! Like I told Peek yesterday, no one under 45 is named Shirley anymore and considering where I live (in the south) I hope I don't end up with some Dolly Parton thing for the money it's gonna cost me! I wanted the guy that answered the phone to do it, but he couldn't! Well, just sit on the edge of your seats until Thusday and I will let you know the stylist saga!

Hope everyone has a good day today. It is cloudy again and forecast is storms but maybe I can sneak over to the pool and get it in before it comes pouring down!

Faye ;)

06-17-2003, 09:29 AM
CINNIMON ROLLS? Now why would anyone go and eat those??:o .....hahahahaha. Actually I have a recipe for almost fat free ones that a girl on another thread here on 3fc gave me, and they are soooooooo goooooddddddd.

I think I came on to late to start the sugar thing....well I will have to start it once I finish this cup of coffee because I added a 1/2 teaspoon to it. Oh well......

Today is my actual weigh in day, and I got on the scale and I am up 1.5 lbs.....no big deal, I'm having TOM(well just getting over) and I had those darned rolls, whoopie pies.....OMG...self sabotoge. But, I'm back on track so don't pity me...I did it to myself, now I will take it off, you can't do it for me (But the encouragement sure does help:D )

Faye: Good luck with Shirley cutting your hair. Hope it comes out nice.

elle: Sorry about your trip, I think your trip to Hawaii sounds a lot more fun to me...lol.. Hope hubby is feeling better.

Missy: try going to the WW site and see if that helps. I will look around, I have another site saved on this computer somewhere, just have to find it then I will post it for you.

Well girls, gotta run, the mil just called and gotta call her back for some reason...

06-17-2003, 10:26 AM
Good morning ladies,

The sun is out and the temps are rising! Which makes me happy. :)

Missy - I am a WW... what info do you need? PM me, okay?

Faye - You might not want to do anything drastic with Shirley until you find out her style and quirks.

Peek - Are you close to your mil? Mine has Alzheimers and is in a nursing home. :(

Sandy - glad your trip to the dentist was painless.

I've got to do the ironing today. All those comfy cotton clothes sure are a pain to keep up. I usually watch The View or something while I iron, but it is still a boring job. Then as soon as I can, I'm headed for the pool with the grandbabies.

See you later!

06-17-2003, 11:43 AM
GOOD MORNING SEXY LADIES!!! How are we all doing this fine Tuesday morning? I had a pretty productive day yesterday and for the most part I stayed OP. Let me tell you my story of temptation...someone brought in these cookies from Sam's Club, which weren't very tempting b/c I figured they were hard, as those types of cookies usually are. So all day long I resisted. Then I had a crumb piece of an :m: chocolate cookie. Then, after that, I had the taste, DAMN THE TASTE. But all I had was a half of an oatmeal raisin cookie...you know, the "healthy" cookie! :^: Well kinda...

The good news was that my dad had finished off the FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE that my mom had made, so that wasn't staring me in the face after dinner. I just had some fresh berries! Whoo hoo!!! Changes are starting slowly, but surely on my end. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Has anyone ever watched the Discovery Health Channel's show Body Challenge? I only see it at a friend's house b/c it's on the extended digital cable, but we spent 2 hours watching the show on Saturday morning. I think I want to go on it! Basically works like this, they select 3 guys, 3 gals and they have a competition to see who can lose best. Each person picks 3 personal goals, they measure your cholesterol, triglycerides and things like that, in addition to your weight and body fat percent. Then I think the show checks in ever 2 weeks for 12 weeks and they weigh in, have little challenges, etc. But it was so amazing to see how much some of these people achieved in a few short weeks! This one guy became AMAZINGLY buff! :fr: and then the winner gets a trip to Hawaii. They evaluate the winner with a panel of judges that includes a past contestant, nutrition person, psychiatrist, etc. So the psychiatrist checks to see that people have changed their eating habits and stuff, the past contestant has BEEN there, so they can help see if the person has changed and stuff like that. It was REALLY cool!! That combined with my aspiration to be on Survivor, maybe I"m :dizzy: but, it seems like an easy diet. LOL

Jana ~ I was gonna ask about a points calculator...if there was one online? There is one on the WW site, but it is something you have to pay to get...and it's WAY alot. So if you know where I can find that or perhaps a site with still more foods on it than Dotti's, that would be great. I'm still undecided about doing the WW thing, because just trying yesterday made me a little neurotic. And my big problem is that I still live at home and my mommy makes me dinner, "old family recipes" and all that, so how do you calculate the points for something like that...?:?: She cooks pretty healthful b/c my dad has high cholesterol and heart problems, but I'd still like to attempt to find a point value for it. Thanks for the job luck too, I'll need it!

Faye ~ I just read the sugar thing AFTER adding 4 packets to my morning tea (but it's better than what I usually do with the coffee!) But hey that's ok. Hopefully Shirley will make your hair look GREAT!!!

Peek ~ thanks in advance! That's a great attitude to have! Keep up the hard work girl! YOU CAN DO IT (in my best Rob Schneider voice...if you've ever seen "The Waterboy").

Elle ~ your AK trip sounds a little crazy to say the least! I was to Alaska twice when I was younger. My parents have a penchant for travel, so we always took a cold trip for my dad and where he could hunt..and then a warm trip for my mom, so she could go to the beach. Alaska is fun, but a bit boring, especially for a 4th or 6th grader (which is when I went)...but I'm glad I got to go all in all.

What else...I had a promising morning, when the scale dipped down to 144lbs.!!! (OK, so I was holding my arms and legs a little weird...but it still said so!!!!) But good news is I seem to be steady at 145-146. So I'm proud of that after a rather questionable weekend.

So in regards to my guy sitch, I figure that when I find a new job, I can get rid of him, since I won't have to see him daily. I'm setting myself a deadline for that and if I don't have one and I'm still unhappy, then I'll just have to take my chances. :( So I'm buckling down, working on my computer programs and revamping that resume.

I've also decided that if I don't get that muscle tone I want by Mid to end July, I'm joining a gym for a few months for their equipment. Makes me a little nervous, gyms that is, but...what the heck...NO PAIN< NO GAIN!

Talk to you soon girlies!

LAUGH OF THE DAY AT FAYE'S EXPENSE, BUT A-OK WITH ME IF YOU LAUGH! Let me preface it by saying I am one of those women who are NOT embarrassed at wearing swimsuits or shorts as long as they fit and are tasteful. I have a friend that weighs 300 lbs and wears bikini swimsuits to the beach. I will not subject someone to my blubber hanging out nor be idiotic enough to go out in a bikini at that size expecting no one to talk about me behind my back! I have 3 swimsuits, an old one , sort of old, and almost new. The middle suit is my biggest one and I rarely wear it as I really like the new one from Chadwicks because it gives me a lift for one thing; it is smaller and bright yellow! Sooo...I used the middle suit this morning and I am not sure why maybe because it was the first one I pulled out, anyway I went to the pool to do my workout and I was bebopping along doing jumping jacks and running in place and twists and....my boobs fell out of the cups in the suit and were dangling down around my belly (inside the suit of course, but still obvious)! The suit is really too big (Yahooo) but like a numbskull I wore it anyway. I couldn't keep my knockers in those cups for anything so thought what the heck and just let them bounce right along with the rest of me!:D

Missy: I will look for the website of this guy who basically lists just about anything you want to eat. When I started on my program I printed off his sheets so I could count cal and fat when I cooked myself. I will see if I can find it so that way when you eat your potroast and potatoes you might be able to figure things out. Ask the other ladies, but I think WW makes some sort of calculator for that. I got tickled when I read that you had added your sugar before reading todays target! Have you tried (open mindedly!) Splenda in your coffee. I have baked with it and stuff comes out fine and have used it on fruit and it is ok, but who knows about drinks especially hot ones.

Jana: oooh how I hate ironing so I rarely buy all cotton clothes unless they are supposed to be worn wrinkled. Otherwise, they will just sit in my closet! Have fun with the babies today!

Well, I just got back from the pool and should go and shower. I am down another 2 lbs yahoo. Sooner or later, I am gonna break that 300 mark and then I am going out and buy myself something expensive! I have 17 lbs to go. Countdown.............When you start at over 400 lbs, seeing 299 makes you cry!

Be good to yourself and each other and kiss whomever is available! I propose for you working ladies the UPS guy if he is cute!

I happen to be a Splenda user! :)

One of my girlfriends (who is a lovely size 12 and think she is fat :( ) told me about it--since I was a regular Equal user, I figured what the heck, I'll try a small box of it one time. Well, it is nice to have a good sweetner in my morning coffee and cereal that isn't A) sugar itself and B) have a gross aftertaste. I've used it in baking too; it is not too bad.
