WW Clubs and Groups - Thursday Chatters for June!!
06-09-2013, 10:56 PM
Hello! We all used to weigh in on Thursdays, but now we do it whenever we can. Some of us follow Weight Watchers, and others choose to do other programs. Several of us have been together here for many years, and we have developed lifelong friendships. We are always ready to make new friends!! WELCOME!!!
06-09-2013, 10:57 PM
LOL, I always get excited when I start a new thread, and it works. Simple pleasures!!
06-10-2013, 06:23 AM
I'm at work and I have my sign in for the site - I now know what email I used here - but I can't remember my password for it!!!! there are just too many passwords in this world!!! I'll get it tonight when I get home - I have it written down - and I'll be able to get in again under my original name!!! how's everyone doing? I'm not sure with me - I honestly need something hopefully something will happen soon in my life!!!
well, here's to a great day for us all we deserve it
Maureen, it's good to see you with your "real" name.
Tammy, thanks so much for starting us off here, again!
What a weekend, Thanks to everyone who posted on my fb page. (Some just told me hb in person.) We went out for seafood and got caught in a big thunderstorm.
David announce to the world  that it was my birthday. So, the waiter brought me a giant piece of cheese cake at the end of the meal. We got to sit there and eat with the lights going off and on. Today, I'm paying for yesterday. I am sooooo tired. That's a good excuse to do as little as possible.
Everyone have a great rest of the day.
06-10-2013, 09:46 PM
Maureen, I decided quite a while back to write down all of my passwords in a little address book. It sure has come in handy more than once. Anything that we can help you with to make something happen in your life?
Tina, ewww to a thunderstorm! It has stormed off and on here today. Maurice doesn't like it at all. Cheesecake sounds yummy! Tomorrow you will be full of energy.
I made it up to 7 minutes on the elliptical! I was so excited. I did 6 the other day, but did it in 2 sessions. This was all at once, I was breathing super heavy. Maybe I'm getting used to it and can keep adding. Sure can feel it in my legs, rear, and arms. Need to get that butterfly moving.
Wow, Tammy, you're doing great on that elliptical!
I hope we have a good day. I'm trying to figure out a Father's Day present for Larry. Not having a house anymore, he doesn't need tools. I guess it's a shirt. :)
06-11-2013, 10:15 AM
I just reread my post, and I wrote that I was breathing super heavy. No, I wasn't breathing super heavy, so that's why I think I'm getting better at it. I have come a long way since almost collapsing at 1 minute!! lol
Tina, a shirt is always needed. Go for it!
Oh, I did buy a shirt for Larry and I'm going to Home Depot to get him a fancy tape measure.
06-14-2013, 12:11 AM
Hooray for a fancy tape measure!
This weekend is the big festival in town. Poultry Days! Chicken decorations everywhere. Big parade on Saturday. Yummy chicken dinners all weekend.
06-14-2013, 05:21 AM
Tina what's a fancy tape measure??!!lol-different colours? I buy mine at the dollar stores
hope we all have a great Friday
 Maureen, it's one of those tape measures that's wound up. Did that make sense! Anyway, the only ones they had were large and heavy. I found a large LED rechargeable flashlight and a utility knife.
Tammy, do y'all dress like poultry for today?:dizzy:
Jennifer, have a good weekend.
Susan, yea for school being out!!!!!
Jeanne, how are you feeling?
06-15-2013, 08:40 PM
LOL @ dressing like a chicken. No, I don't, but I did see some and lots of chicken has. Good parade today, delicious chicken dinner, saw lots of people I knew. Sitting here at home listening to the music from the Social Tent now. I've never gone up to the tent because there are quite a few heavy drinkers that are always there, and I don't need/want to be around that.
Glad you had a good time, Tammy.
I've taken it slow today, getting ready for tomorrow. Church and then Mexican food. Ole'
06-16-2013, 12:59 AM
Oh, I love Mexican! Maybe I'll do that after church.
How is everyone doing?????
It's hot here!
Drink that water.
06-21-2013, 07:49 PM
It's even hot here in Ohio. I'm drinking lots of water.
I was finally able to move my butterfly. Took forever to break that plateau.
:bravo: Tammy. The butterfly moved !!!!!
06-23-2013, 05:05 PM
Today has been a lazy day.
My 97 year old aunt passed away the other night. I had stayed at nursing home with another aunt a couple of nights with another aunt so she wouldn't be alone. Since then all kinds of appts. Funeral home, lawyer. The funeral is tomorrow. Aunt Wanda was like a grandma to my brothers and me. She lived 4 houses away from us growing up. She will be missed.
Tammy, I am so sorry. It's good you are there to help in this difficult time.
Is this the aunt in all the photos?
06-24-2013, 01:39 AM
She has been in several photos that my niece and my brother have posted recently.
Tammy, I hope the weather was good for the funeral.
Maureen, You are quiet!
So far, I've kept almost all the weight off that I lost after my surgery. I gained back about 1 1/2 pounds but that is okay.
06-24-2013, 08:33 PM
good evening ladies
Tammy, sorry to hear about your aunt -
Tina, that's great about keeping the pounds off
I got on the scale this morning and after a week and a bit I managed to go up 4 lbs!!! I was so disgusted - today I managed to be really good with the food - at lunch I went for a half hour walk - tracked it on google and it was 1.4 miles - when I got home I went for another half hour walk - so feel good about today.
I spent the weekend watching the news about the flooding in southern Alberta - luckily the part of Calgary that my oldest son lives wasn't effected and my other son lives a bit north of Calgary so he was okay too-lots of damage though - I guess in total about 75000 people had to leave their homes - they're slowly going back to assess the damage but a lot still can't go back-downtown is also a mess. good thing I took my holidays last month or I'd of been in the thick of it
Tomorrow I have to take my mom for her annual pacemaker check - I'm glad she just has to go across the street to where she's staying -
well, let's all have a good rest of the day and a good one tomorrow
06-25-2013, 06:35 PM
it was hot for the funeral, but the rain held off. This morning I found out that one of my cousins (on the other side of the family) fell off of a ladder and died. He was 67. Just unreal.
Tina, good for you for keeping the weight off!
Maureen, keep walking and you'll get rid of those 4 pounds. I had heard about the flooding! How awful for those people!
Maureen, you'll get those 4 pounds off, and more! We just take it one day at a time. I know that sounds old but it's true. I'm glad your sons didn't get caught in that flood. I saw pictures of houses floating away. Terrible!
Tammy, again, I'm sorry about your aunt and now your cousin.
How is your weather? We are hitting 98 or 99. This weekend it will hit 100. Summer has finally arrived in TX.:D
06-27-2013, 10:29 PM
It has been hot and humid, not 98 or 99 yet, but in the 90's many days.
How are we doing.
Maureen, I hope you have a great holiday!
Tammy, what's going on?
How are the other members?????
What are you doing for The 4th?
We don't have plans to go anywhere. I will make a Flag Cake.:o. I've never done that and want to try.
06-29-2013, 07:28 PM
good evening all
thanks Tina - I don't plan on doing too much this weekend but it's nice having the long weekend-I never can stay up late enough to watch the fireworks(Monday) but I may attempt going downtown on Monday - but they're predicting 400, 000 people on Parliament Hill so I'm not sure - I can't stand that many people in one spot especially if it's hot!!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend- I've been catching up on Criminal Minds
06-29-2013, 11:05 PM
Tina, neat idea about the flag cake! I want a piece.
Maureen, I wouldn't want to be around that many people in the heat either!
Tim and Lauren will be gone from Thurs-Sun. Her best friend is getting married, and Lauren is in the wedding. I have to admit, it will be nice to have the house to myself for a few days.
Tim had been working so many hours, so he really wasn't home that much for several months. He switched private ambulance companies a few weeks ago, so he is home more now, but that will change the end of July because he will be going to the police academy again.
Lauren and I get along, but she tends to be a bit on the lazy side. I sat down earlier and made a list of things that the 3 of us need to talk about. When they moved in last June, they had agreed to do certain things around the house, and it isn't being done. I figure I'm doing my part of the bargain, so she can too. Since Tim is home more right now, he can do more also. I guess I'm a meany.
Next Saturday will be a family reunion on my mother's side. I still have no idea what I will take. Thinking maybe meatballs with bbq sauce in the crock pot. We have it at a cousin's house, and the food is always inside so I'd have a place to plug it in.
06-30-2013, 06:53 AM
good morning all
Tammy, I don't think you're being a meanie at all - it's hard enough living with other people no matter how much you love them - but they have to do their share - have the talk again -
I'm off to get one of my sisters and take her grocery shopping - she doesn't have a car and it's hard for her to get around - I start walking home next week, weather permitting, a few days anyway it's a mile walk and according to google should take about an hour and a half - I bought my sunscreen yesterday!!!
well let's all have a great day
Tammy, I agree with Maureen, no matter what is planned, people will take advantage. DO have that talk. Since you have a good relationship with Lauren, it should go well.
Meatballs sound very good. How about some of your deviled eggs! :D
Maureen, an hour and a half walk after work sounds too long! You are sweet, helping your sister. I know she appreciates it.
Okay, I'd better go put on make-up for church. Don't want to scare anyone.
06-30-2013, 11:55 PM
Thank you Maureen and Tina. We sat down and had a talk this afternoon, and it went very well. They both admitted to slacking off and promise to do better. :)
Tina, Lauren suggested the eggs too! I just might do that depending on how my hands are feeling. Sometimes they hurt and peeling eggs isn't good.
Maureen, I think that's great about helping your sister. I agree with Tina that it sounds like a long time to do a mile. Good for you for using sunscreen!
Tina, I giggled about the makeup.
07-01-2013, 02:14 PM
Tammy, glad you seem to have sorted things out- it's not a mile for the walk home it's almost 5 miles - that's why it's the hour & half!!
07-01-2013, 08:48 PM
OH! That makes more sense Maureen!!
Maureen, how was that walk home?
Today is actually nice out - not too hot. The 4th should be bearable, too.
The ice maker in the frig is making a growling sound! That's got to be bad, don't you think! I'd better look in the booklet and see what the "trouble shooting" part says. I am not in the mood to have a repair guy come out .
07-02-2013, 12:25 PM
Tina, I'll let you know later tonight-if it doesn't rain today will be my first walk - we had the day off yesterday. I'm just hoping the weather holds up. I'm not doing too bad with the food today - so the walk will be added incentive.
talk to you all later
Oh yes, I forgot about yesterday being your holiday. Good luck!!!!!!
07-02-2013, 10:10 PM
It hasn't been as hot here, and I like it! Slept with the windows open last night, and it was so nice.
Tina, hope you figure out what is wrong with ice maker.
07-05-2013, 04:16 PM
5 years ago today I lost Bob. Not having the best day. Lauren's birthday.
Tim ran away from some bees today, ran right into a bar of some kind, lots of blood. He is in the ER right now in Indiana (where L is from) waiting on stitches and a catscan. He wasn't conscious for a while, so that is a concern to doctors. Just not the best day.
07-05-2013, 06:31 PM
7 staples, mild concussion, whiplash. His bp and pulse are up, so the dr is running more tests. I did get to talk to him about half hour ago, so that made me feel better.
07-05-2013, 09:13 PM
Tammy I sure hope everything's okay - glad you were able to talk to him-
it's been hot and humid here - we had a bit of rain earlier this evening - didn't cool anything down much - I'm making a promise to myself that tomorrow morning I'm going to the weight watcher meeting - I need something-
it's so busy at work - we bought out another company this one is in Toronto and it's an IT staffing firm-they've been in business almost 20 years - so here we go again!!
well, here's to a great weekend - hope you all had a nice 4th of July
will be back here later
07-08-2013, 03:41 PM
Hi everyone. Tim is doing ok. His neck is more sore than his forehead where he hit the pole. He went to work today. He is taking 600mg of ibuprofen every 6 hours, so that is helping. It was nice for them to get home yesterday. Lauren's mom was at the hospital, so that helped knowing that she was there.
Maureen, I'm sorry about all the additional work. However, you will still have a job! Did you make it to the WW meeting? Was it inspiring. :)
Tammy, I found Tim's page. Poor thing! I'm not surprised that knocked him out. OUCH!
It finally rained here yesterday. It is soooo dry.
Take it easy and drink your water.
07-10-2013, 07:54 AM
good morning everyone
yes, Tina I'm glad that I do have a job for sure - the busier the better - at my age I'm lucky - especially in this area - I'm not bilingual and I'm old!! But according to my boss I'm here for a long time!!!
Tammy I saw Tim's picture too!! ouch!! glad he's okay
I'm trying really hard to watch my food intake - I've been so off program. I did walk half way home yesterday - 2.6 miles in 50 minutes - it's so humid right now though I just couldn't walk any further-I think I'll just do the 2 miles again next week then slowly work into the 4.5 to home. I was pretty sweaty when I got home!!!
Susan, thinking of you today. Hugs to you
let's all have a great day we deserve it
We are a pretty quiet group here, for some reason.
I don't know about y'all but I am really, really ready for the weekend! :carrot:
It's seemed like a long week.
Have a good one.
:bday2you: Maureen :bday2you:
07-15-2013, 06:42 PM
thank you Tina
07-17-2013, 07:19 AM
I honestly don't know how you get used to the heat!!!! My lord according to the weather station it's going to feel like 111 F with the humidity this afternoon!!!!!. Tina, Susan yesterday we were hotter than Texas - this can't be - my air conditioner is working overtime.
no walking home in this heat - I brought my car today because my boss is in Calgary for 3 days so I can park in his spot.
I'm really trying to stick to a plan. I've been having a protein shake with fruit & spinach in the morning and for supper and eating a regular lunch. I hope this moves the scales a bit.
let's all have a great day
as Tina said, it's very quiet lately on the boards
I'm starting another thread, since it hasn't been JUNE for some time. :D:D:D:D:D
I started a new thread awhile ago. So far, I'm the only one there. It's kind of weird just me talking to myself.
Maybe no one wants to talk in the dead of summer.
Have a great, healthy day.
