Default Lesson One:Don't fix food before first cup of coffee!...

So I grab the oatmeal packet and pour in the hot water. I grab the cinnamon bottle from the spice rack to add to the oatmeal. I stir and stir and can't figure out what smells so bad near my oatmeal..... I happen to look at the cinnamon bottle and realize that I had grabbed the Cumin bottle instead of cinnamon dump out oatmeal and start over AFTER I have my coffee

Awwww, I have almost done that too!! The only thing that saved me was the noise in the crushed hot pepper when I thought it was the cinnamon!

Hope your day gets better! And yes, coffee first!!!

Always good to know we're not alone in doing these things. I prefer to think of it as being highly creative.

I once baked the most beautiful apple pie I have ever seen. I don't know why, but it was just prettier than anything I had ever baked in the past, and I had used just-picked Northern Spy apples (back in CT) which are amazing for pie! As my family dug in I watch their faces in happy anticipation - was that a smile? Uh, no. . . . . . . . . Turns out I mistook a jar of kosher salt for a jar of sugar. Lesson learned - no longer keep my sugar and salt in identical mason jars!!

DW was making cinnamon rolls one morning while my brother was visiting and accidentally sprayed the pan with garlic flavored Pam. 15 years later and my brother still talks about it.

Alamo Girl hope you're staying above the water line. I chose the right weekend to go to Houston!
