Question has anyone concieved with diet and no meds

I have had pcos since I started my periods. I had my two wonderful children when i was 18 and 20. I was diagnosed with pcos finaly about 8yrs ago when i had a false preg test. That was the worst thing i have ever been throug. I can not afford to continue to go back and forth to a dr all the time. I have been watching my carb intake and i have cut out all sugar unless it is natural such as in fruit. I have now lost 20lbs in two months hopeing i might concieve. my guestion is has anyone ever been able to become pregnant by using a low carb diet and ex alone? how long did it take? and finaly what kind of diet if any did you use? than you to all that reply I will take any help I can get. My story with pcos is to long to post But it is comfort to read that i am not going through this alone. thank you chicks for this site it is the best one on the web.

Hi donnagial,

I'm sorry you haven't received a response yet - I hate it when that happens! I too, am on a low-carb diet and trying to conceive, but it's only been a couple of months. One thing that did help me was metformin - I started taking it on May 24th, and on June 3rd, I got a period (the first one I've had on my own in over a year). Now I'm just waiting to see if I'm actually ovulating. Are you insulin resistant yourself? If so, you should be talking to a doctor about metformin or actos or any other insulin-sensitizer that may help you. Hope you get some answers to your questions and good luck!

Hi Donnagial....I asked a similar question few months ago, check it out if you like. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...5&pagenumber=1

I hadnt asked about a specific diet, but I was curious about pcos'ers who conceived w/o meds. There are quite a few of us. I hope this helps.

I myself have been doing l/c for a quite a few months, and yes I conceived, however life took a different turn. Good Luck to you
