So I just tried my "Detour" bar but I'm not sure what it is really telling me?

That's confusing. After calculating, is the amount of "total carbs" supposed to be added to the "carbs listed on label"?
Are they claiming all labels are wrong?

Not "handy" really. Hmmm

I just entered in the nutrition stats for proti-diet BS-maple oatmeal which, according to the package labeling, are 90 total calories, 1 g fat, 6 g carb, and 15 g protein. Every g of fat = 9 calories, whereas a gram of either carb or protein = 4 calories. So, in the oatmeal: 1 g fat = 9 calories, 6 g carb = 24 calories, and 15 g protein = 60 calories. 9+24+60 = 93 total calories, not 90.

This online hidden carb calculator assumes that any difference in total calories between the calculator and what is on the packaging is due to carbs. Accorrding to this calculator there are actually only 5.25 g carb in my oatmeal.

I would not consider this a very reliable calculator. Again, it's assuming any differences in total calories are due to rounding up or rounding down the number of carbs. In some cases the difference could be due to rounding of the carbs, but in others it could be due to rounding of the total fat or protein grams. There's no way to know!

I do not recommend using this calculator as it has the potential to make you think you are eating less carbs than you really are, and as a result you may end up eating too many.
