I've been maintaining this year. I do it the same as how I lost weight. I count calories, stay away from junk food and exercise. I just give myself a little more calories a day to maintain.

I keep it off the same way I lost it. I still count calories, still plan all my meals ahead of time still keep a food log and weigh daily and record my weight on my calendar so I can see at a glance if a trend is developing.

Thanks for asking this. I've been wondering what kind of methods there are to maintain. I mean I know it's all basically the same idea but I'm sure there are many ways to get to that same idea, kinda like with weight loss. We all in theory loss weight the same way just different methods of getting there and making it happen. Does that make any sense?
My worry is that I get tired of counting calories non stop but that's the only way I find that works for losing weight. And I tried to maintain my weight for a week few months back and I slipped up. That was only a week! I guess I need to figure out another method and give it a whirl.

Just as other maintainers have said: I pretty much do the same thing I did when I was losing, I just eat more calories.

I do add or take away exercises or foods, but for the most part I follow the same basic structure as I did when I was losing.

230 lbs heaviest, 215 lbs 7/3/09, 117.5 lbs now. The biggest advice I can give is that when (not if) you slip, let it go, call it a new day. That has been one of the most helpful things.
