35 pounds in 10 weeks breaks down this way:
if you lost your first 10lb in two weeks, that's another 25lb in 8 weeks. You would need to average about 3.1 lb per week to hit that 10 week goal.
It's do-able, you may find some weeks are higher losses and some are lower, but it averages out. Not every body drops weight the same way, but if your body takes to IP well and you follow the program 100%, it's an attainable goal.

I am 5'3, and my weekly losses have been 5.8, 3, and 4. I think you are on the right track! From reading around here, it seems like losses seems to average about 3/lbs a week. Good luck! I think you can definitely see your goal in 10 weeks.

I think it depends more on how much weight you have to lose than how tall you are. I pretty much averaged 1.5-2# per week. I had 35# to lose and am the same height. The closer you get, the less you lose each week. The first 10# I lost in 3 weeks, the next 10 took 5, then next 10 took 7... The closer I got to goal and the smaller I got, the lower my losses were.
Plus, every BODY is different. Just because that was my experience doesn't mean it will be yours.
I'm 5'2" and average 2 - 2.5 a week, but I'm older than you (54). Everyone above is correct...each body is different, so losses vary a great deal. Seems the less a person has to lose, & the closer they get to goal, the slower it comes off. At least that has been my observation since starting IP & reading all the threads here. Good luck to you, and welcome to IP!

Exactly. Generally speaking the more body fat you have the faster you'll lose it.
Beyond every body being different we also all have different lifestyles. Someone who sits behind a desk all day is going to burn fewer calories than a nurse for example.
also if the coach says 10 weeks, don't listen and tell yourself 12/13 not because you can't but so you budget to be on plan that long and don't get frustrated when/if it is week 9 and you still have 8 pounds to go
I am in my 60s, 5'1" and started at 160. I wanted to get to 130. My coach said I would get the weight off in two months. I said to myself that's what she thinks"" because of the reasons people have already mentioned plus my age. It actually took me 9 months. I think they tell you it will be so quick so you don't get scared away by how much it is going to cost.
I am 5'2" and have varied quite a bit from WI to WI. I don't go each week, but more like every 10 days duet ot he distance I travel to the clinic... except for 1 time when I actually gained alittle my scale goes down each week. As I get closer to my goal, the weight seems to be going slower. My body fat content was lowere to start as well because of my athletic background. My size has dramatically changed over the past 2 months. My goal still stands at 3 months for the 30lbs I want to lose.

A better goal would be "size". Because on this diet you lose sizes like mad and you can weigh more and be smaller.
When I first started, I had picked 125 for my goal because I thought that is what it would take for me to be in size 6. At 150, I wore a 10/12 (in the past) so I figured 10# roughly equal a pants size, so to wear a 6, I should be at 125. Well, when I started IP I was 170, wearing a 14. I lost 35# and wear a size 4 pretty much across the board with a few 2's thrown in the mix.
I pretty much abondoned 125 when I realized I was a 4 at 135, so I changed my goal and started phasing off. I am more than thrilled with my size, so I don't really care that I never got down to that ellusive "125".
I will have averaged 2.5lbs per week for my first 5 weeks (WI is tonight and as of this morning I am down 7 from last week, but last week I had a 2lb gain with TOM). I am 5'1 (barely) and started at 148. My coach said that for women she sees averages of about 2-3 lbs and it mostly depends on what they start at. I figure even at an average of 2 lbs...it adds up pretty fast!

I am 5'2 and started IP at 175. In 14 weeks I have lost 32lbs, or 2.3lbs/week. This may not look quite as impressive as some other IP'ers, but I lost 42lbs on my own just prior to starting IP and was eating rather well. Like many others have said, I think you will see the weight come off quickly for YOU. Don't get too hung up on other people's result and you WILL reach goal before you know it!

I agree. My losses have slowed, but they are steady. On other diets, I reached a plateau and never budged. Another reason I love IP so much!

I am an ICU nurse, but I think the night shift does slow my losses at times. Maybe has something to do with cortisol and water retention? My coach has me add a packet or 4oz. of protein on the nights I work, as I am often up for over 24 hours between my "mom shift" during the day and "nurse shift" at night. Sorry, I guess that was totally off topic.
