Weight Loss Support - What is your weight loss theme song?

I gotta say, I never realized how motivational the Foo Fighters are until the last few years when I really started listening to their lyrics. They have one song called "All my Life" that really does sound like it could be about the battle with weightloss.

Here's a few of the the lyrics:
"All my life I've been searching for something,
Something never comes never leads to nothing,
Nothing satisfies but I'm getting close,
Closer to the prize at the end of the rope,
All night long I dream of the day,
When it comes around and it's taken away,
Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most

Will I find something in there, To give me just what I need
Another reason to bleed, One by one hidden up my sleeve
Don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste
Weight keepin' me down"

It has definitely become my weightloss theme song...I mean c'mon, it's perfect! Do any of you guys have a motivational song that you listen to for a pick me up when you're getting frustrated?

Good song!!

Mine is 'Go Hard' by Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Wayne. I'm not a huge Minaj fan but that song SPEAKS to me. BIG TIME. Hahaha I always listen to it when I need a reminder of what I'm doing for myself. It has been my theme song for a few years now and never fails me. :)

One of my old favorite songs is "Slide" by Goo Goo Dolls. I listened to it on my discman (!) a lot back when I got to my lowest adult weight about 12 years ago, and even though it has absolutely nothing to do with weight loss, the set of lyrics I kept repeating in my head was, "What you feel is what you are and what you are is beautiful." That somehow kept me motivated to keep going on my walks, since I think I'd felt ugly most of my life and I really wanted to feel "beautiful" like the girl he was singing to.

One of my new favorites is that Imagine Dragons song, and it feels motivational as well . . .

Itís time to begin, isnít it?
I get a little bit bigger but then Iíll admit
Iím just the same as I was
Now donít you understand?
(That) Iím never changing who I am

So this is where you fell
And I am left to sell
The path to Heaven runs through miles of clouded **** right to the top
Donít look back
Turning to rags and giving the commodities a rain check

Without getting too hokey, I'm on a somewhat h3llish path to change my health for the better, but I'll always be the same person inside . . . and sometimes I don't think everyone else can see that. :^:

mine is...
Beautiful by Christina Aguillera
the music is awesome to stretch and/or cool down too! the lyrics are what alot of us over weight, self conscious, down on ourself ladies really need to hear and understand! I AM BEAUTIFUL, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY!

LMFAO - Sexy and I know it.

It's just a fun song, high tempo for workouts. And it's the perfect song to listen to when I'm imagining myself at goal. I mean, check the lyrics, this is pretty much what most of us expect to happen once we lose all the weight, lol.

When I walk in the spot, this is what I see
Everybody stops and they staring at me
I got passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it
I'm sexy and I know it
Ah... Girl look at that body
Ah... I work out

When I get to the end of a tough work out and really need a push, I start hearing Rocky's theme song called Gonna Fly Now. Hilarious but I can't help it.

Trying hard now
it's so hard now
trying hard now

Getting strong now
won't be long now
getting strong now

Gonna fly now
flying high now
gonna fly, fly, fly...

mine has always been "Not Afraid" by Eminem...because alot of my weight loss has been facing my fears....of losing weight, of losing that crutch of food, fear of what would happen as i lost weight, would i be tempted to stray? would i decide i'm not content in my job? etc...etc....would i be noticed? that's a huge thing, i am veryyy shy....so yes, for me "Not Afraid" is what i think of when i need to push past something

I don't have a particular song, but the chorus in a U2 song has stuck with me from the beginning of my change in eating habits. The song is "I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight."

"A change of heart comes slow
It's not a hill, it's a mountain
As you start out the climb
Do you believe me, or are you doubting
We're gonna make it all the way to the light
But I know I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight"

I tells me that any aspect of life can be a slow and steady struggle that looks bigger than you can handle at the beginning, but is manageable if you stick with it. And, once in a while, we all go crazy.

This is my favorite, it's not about weight loss but I just love the lyrics and the beat! Helps me keep my eye on the prize.

Usher- Numb:
They say life is a battlefield
I say bring it on
If you wanna know how I feel
Live it till it's gone
I'm just saying that what don't kill, only makes you strong
If you don't recognize what is real
Then forever is a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long Time

Some things never change here we go again
Feel like I'm losing my mind
Shake it off, let it go, I don't care any more
Just go numb
You never know until you let go
Let's go numb

I like diva by beyonce, but I also love the anthem by good Charlotte at the end when I'm feeling weak and about to give up

10-10-2012, 09:43 PM
Pretty much any hardcore speed metal song empowers me and motivates me.

Oh, and Britney Spears for a nice, stark contrast. ;)

Lyric-wise I love a dancey 90's tune called "Got Myself Together" by the Bucketheads. It's part of a sample from an older song that I love and it loops:

Gotta get myself together, gotta keep movin' on
Gotta keep pushin' in the right direction (Move) (Gotta move it on)

When I lift, the HBO 24/7 Boxing Theme Song pushes me to lift heavier weights!

BEFORE I DIE....from Kirk Franklin.

Brothers and sisters
I'm feelin' real good cuz it ain't over

Right before I die I gotta live
Live out my dreams
so I can be what He planned for me
not just for me but so they can see
much more of Him and less of [me]
right before I die I gotta

Love my enemies, forgive the past
and set 'em free so I can free
free up the things
every blessing God has for me
see it's for me, not just for you
I had to learn from what I've been through
I can't go through that way again
be hurt by you that way again
It's not the end

I used to be afraid to die
I used to be afraid to try
cause I was too afraid of knowing
what failing looked like
but the Son came to give me life
now I feel like I can touch the sky
I'm ready if you're ready
Get up and live right now, right now, right now

Right before I die I gotta
change how I think
change how I speak
I'm not the same
so when I speak
you don't hear the pain
no longer weak
with no one to [blame]
right before I die I gotta

Become more like you
take up my cross
to count the cost
cause I was lost
that's why I praise you
you're the only God
I don't know what they do

This is a really fun thread!

For weight loss, Fly from the Inside by Shinedown has really stuck with me, particularly the first line of this section:
I am focused on what I am after
The key to the next open chapter
Cause I found a way to steal the sun from the sky
Long live that day that I decided to fly from the inside

For life in general, I love the old Irish tune Preab San Ol.

Great songs you guys! I'll have to add some of these to my 'motivational playlist'...good stuff!

Elladorine, thanks for reminding me of that Imagine Dragons song...I heard it the other day and was going to add it to my list, but then I forgot. I already have their song 'radioactive' on there. Love it!

Here's another one:
Shake It Out by Florence and the Machine

I think I might have to take a listen to some of these! I have a couple of songs that make me think yeeah! bring it on lol mainly 'David Guetta ft Sia - Titanium'

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium

Maybe I should listen to it now - my motivation is at an all time low!

Yay! I'm so glad this thread exists! (even if it's almost a month old, whatever.

I know it'll make me look like a total dork, but "Go The Distance" from Disney's Hercules has become my official song. (I have this English cover from a Japanese band in my iPod that's amazing.) It's this part that really gets me:

"I'll be there someday I can go the distance
I will find my way if I can be strong
I know every mile will be worth my while
When I go the distance I'll be right where I belong"

Obviously not perfect, but it certainly works for me.

Never really thought of weight loss songs but when exercising on the ARC these are a few songs to keep my stride per minute up:

Shake Senora - Pitbull
Higher - Taio Cruz
Moves Like Jagger - Maroon 5/Xtina
I Like It - Enrique/Pitbull
Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen

And of course Party Rock - LMFAO
